Is YLOD a real risk or a 360 fanboy exagerated problem because of the RROD?
Hey all, I finally replaced the dead blu ray laser in my 60GB PS3, but I had ended up getting a PS3 slim for christmas. I want to keep the 60GB, but I hear so much about the YLOD here, and I have someone willing to buy it for over $330. I'm so terrified of the YLOD that I'm probably selling the 60GB, unless YLOD really isn't that common

My PS3 scratches discs?
Has this happened to anyone? I get a ring-like scratch around dvds I insert into the Ps3, sometimes more scratches sort of like Saturn's rings? Is this the first stage of the YLOD

Quick question about redownloading psn purchases…
I know this has prolly been before so I tried to save myself the trouble and google it but I came across three different answers (3, 5, unlimited.) I plan to get a psn card monday after school and get some addons for a couple of my games but Im wondering if this ps3 gets the ylod or something of the sort and I have to get another, do I get to redownload all of my psn purchases for free? I highly doubt Im going to go through 5 PS3s because I will most likely just give up before that point but out of curiousity, is it limited to 3 times, 5 times, or limited at all?

I have a question about recovering data…
My ps3 just died from the ylod and i sent it to sony for repairs and i took my upgraded hard drive out and put back in the orginal hard drive. I am looking for possibilties of recovering my data from the hard drive i took out and came across a product called Thermaltake Sata HDD USB Docking Station
