HTC: ‘most phones’ launched in 2010 will get Android 2.2

Now that Froyo has gone official , HTC has hurried to reassure customers that most of its 2010 phone catalog will indeed be riding Android 2.2 before the year is through. Prodded on the subject by Pocket-lint , the company has replied that it's starting out with the Desire and Incredible and working through other "hotly anticipated products," which should sound a reassuring note for prospective Evo 4G owners.

Mobilicity gets the green light from CRTC, looks to launch in Toronto soon

Right on cue, the artist formerly known as DAVE Wireless has been given approval to begin operations in Canada. Just as we heard earlier in the year, Mobilicity is looking to add some much-needed competition in the mobile operator space up north, and as predicted, the CRTC has given the initial stamp of approval needed for it to move forward with business operations. The company has to make a few minor changes up the ladder in order to appease the Canadian overlords that regulate this stuff, but the outfit's top brass have stated that they have "no issues" whatsoever in complying

Consisting of the GlobalFoundries 65nm chipset, the ARM 1176 CPU and FPU core, Mali 3D Graphic Core, and a full HD 1080p Video CODEC application processor, this bad boy supports multitasking, 3D graphics, and sports a camera, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.

FLO TV to offer time-shifted viewing, pay-as-you-go, web-based content later this year

It looks like FLO TV is about to get a little more interesting. Alongside your automobile and your various smartphones , you'll soon be able to turn to your smartbooks, e-readers, and tablets to access your mobile TV service. The diabolical plot begins when when the company launches "new applications that integrate video with web-based content" for distributing "live mobile TV and rich mobile media services to a range of new devices." What does all this mean, exactly?

Bluetooth 4.0 devices to make the scene later this year

We were glad to see Bluetooth low energy actually added to the Bluetooth 4.0 spec, but of course the question remained: when are we going to get our hands on it? By Q4 this year, apparently -- at least according to the Bluetooth SIG.

Confirmed: Windows Mobile 6.5 to become Windows Phone Starter Edition

Windows Phone 7 Series might have been the big news out of Mobile World Congress this year, but it looks like Windows Mobile 6.5 will live on as the basis of Windows Phone Starter Edition. We'd already heard some whispers to that effect, but now it's been confirmed by ZDNet 's Mary Jo Foley, who got some answers about the stripped-down mobile OS directly from Redmond.

Nexus One on extended 2 year contract with 4 people(tmobile)?

I have tmobile. Both my grandparents and my brother and I each have our phone, I want a relationship with the discount (you can not get no discount), but I do not know what to do and get discounts on my family’s phones on the same floor. . . . It does not seem possible, because you buy the phone with Google and not tmobile. It ‘can get discounts on all phones, including the NEXUS? Please help. . . .
