Xperia X10 will get pinch-to-zoom in Q1 2011, with some limitation (video)
There's been a long back-and-forth from Sony Ericsson and the dev community as to whether or not the Xperia X10 was at all capable of multi-touch -- the company stance has been that the hardware just can't do it , but still whispers to the contrary have lingered. Consider those murmurs validated: Sony Ericsson Product Blog has announced that the X10 will, in fact, get multi-touch in the first quarter of next year -- with some caveats. The large asterisk that's destined to clarify the minutiae will tell you that pinch-to-zoom will be enabled for browser and maps, but as the blog post put it, "situations like when the movement of the two fingers cross each other on the X- or Y-axis that could cause strange behavior." Third-party apps should be able to join some functionality, too, with the similar limitations (including when buttons must be pressed simultaneously -- that won't work)

Google adding over-the-air app installation and iTunes streaming to Android
Sure sure, Froyo is great and all, but Google just blew our minds with two previews of upcoming Android features at I/O: OTA application installation and remote music streaming. OTA installation is just as simple as you'd expect -- after browsing to an app on your desktop, you can push it to your phone and install it with just a single click, all done over the air. Interestingly, Google also showed music being purchased and transferred from Android Marketplace in the same way, which could indicate a deeper push towards music integration, or just be a nice demo.

Motorola RAZR3 comes back from the dead for a very special hands-on video
While you're still trying to decide whether or not we've entered the post-Moto era, or if recent sales numbers are but a mere hiccup, might we introduce you in a hands-on of Motorola's doomed RAZR3 (aka Ruby)? Featuring an improved interface, GPS, FM radio, and a touchscreen, this would have been the phone to beat -- in 2006. For a closer look at the dumphone that almost was, check out the video after the break.

HTC responds to Apple’s patent lawsuit, will ‘fully defend itself’
HTC hasn't filed its official reply to Apple's patent lawsuit in court yet, but the company just gave us an updated and expanded statement on the case, saying that while it "strongly advocates intellectual property protection," it disagrees with Apple's actions and will "fully defend itself." Natch. HTC obviously wasn't eager to divulge whether or not that means it's going to countersue Apple with its own patents, but we're sort of expecting it -- we'll find out more when lawyers do their thing in a few weeks. Oh, and we also asked HTC if and when Google would get involved, but didn't get an answer -- we'll let you know if we hear anything
