Doom-themed live wallpaper for Android turns your phone into a playground of carnage
Okay, so maybe this isn't the best choice for businessfolk sporting their new Droid Pros , but if you remember Doom as fondly as we do, you're probably going to want to check this out. A dev over on xda-developers has posted information on his new Doom-themed live wallpaper -- it doesn't actually draw from the game itself, but he's taken the bad guys (the important part) and reused them on a flat, stationary playing field of his own design. Basically, your hero strolls around battling baddies as they spawn; when he finally succumbs to his countless festering wounds, he respawns in a different room ad nauseam.

TAT releases trio of awesome live wallpapers for Android
Android comes with a pretty great set of live wallpapers built in -- and some manufacturers add their own, too -- but if you're ready for a change of pace, the UI nerds (we mean that in the best way possible) over at TAT have just dropped three of 'em for free. Called Artemia, Blue Range, and Retro Pixels, the trio run the gamut from dreamy aquascape to eBoy -esque 3D environment to 8-bit gaming, and they're all interactive in one way or another -- poking and shaking both seem to have interesting effects. They're in the Market now, so you may as well grab if you've got a compatible phone

Lookout’s App Genome Project warns about sketchy apps you may have already downloaded
If you're an iPhone user, the only privacy notice you'll see from an app regards your current location -- as much a warning about the associated battery hit from the GPS pinging as anything. If you're an Android user, however, things are different, with a tap-through dialog showing you exactly what each app will access on your phone. But, do you read them

LG Fathom VS750 review
Falling somewhere between the flash of the Chocolate and no-frills, no surprises industrial design of the recently launched Ally , LG has outed the Fathom (aka VS750 ) with little fanfare. Featuring a mercifully unadorned WinMo 6.5.3 (save for wallpaper, pictured above, designed by a certain Vera Wang), a 1GHz CPU, quad band GSM, and a handful of AC adapters for charging all over Europe and the UK, this is a device clearly meant to go global.

Android 2.1 SDK now available, Nexus One says ‘geez, finally’
In a break from tradition, the availability of an official SDK for Android 2.1 trailed availability of a phone running it -- the Nexus One , of course -- by nearly a week, undoubtedly leaving countless developers sleepless. Despite the Nexus' fistful of new goodies like active wallpaper and a far flashier 3D-enabled Gallery app, Google's simply referring onlookers to the 2.0 documentation to learn about user-facing changes: "Android 2.1 does not add significant user features, see the Android 2.0 Platform Highlights document for the latest user features." From a development perspective, the latest SDK includes hooks for creating your own active wallpapers, so get moving, guys -- a whole bunch of HTC and Moto devices are going to be able to use 'em soon enough

Removing Wallpapers
I'm new here just to mention in advice. I was trying out the download Wallpaper to see if I would like it on my PS3 system so I tryed one of the wallpapers of Ratchet and Clank Future: TOD but I didn't really like it so I went and deleted it so even if it is off the system when I got into my theme settings and go to wallpapers it keeps appearing on the screen even after I deleted it so my question is will it go after after awhile if it's not being used or is it there until I get a newer wallpaper downloaded?.
