Nexus S shows off its camera, video recording abilities
At this point, there's essentially nothing that we don't already know about the Nexus S ... except when it'll be officially revealed, of course. But up until now, we haven't had a good look at what exactly the impending smartphone's camera sensor could do.

Motorola Droid X stars in its clearest off-the-cuff preview yet
Let's be honest, we've seen more Droid X / Xtreme / Shadow spy shots than we can keep track of at this point, but for the latest batch, Mr. Blurrycam must've forgot his trademark blur filter and delivered us the cleanest images yet -- for shame, we know.

iPhone 4: are you getting one?
Now that the dust is beginning to settle on Steve Jobs' WWDC10 keynote , we thought we'd ask the most pertinent question of all: who's buying this new hero mobile device from Apple? We know the company's loyal fan base will not disappoint, but what about you, undecided voter

Android goes Korean: Samsung debuts Galaxy A, LG intros LG-SU950
As Google quietly continues to take over the smartphone space, along with just about every other crevice in the technology realm, a trio of handsets have popped up over in Asia with its Android operating system loaded on. LG has seen fit to make official a pair of Snapdragon -based handsets -- the LG-LU2300 that we spotted earlier in the month, as well as a newfangled LG-SU950 -- the latter of which will go by KU9500 on KT. Both of these will sport a 3.5-inch WVGA display, DivX playback, 3.5mm headphone jack, DMB mobile TV, multimedia playback and a May / June release on Korean soil

Sony Ericsson promises Satio software update ‘just around the corner’
Following a December firmware boost, users of Sony Ericsson's much-maligned Satio should start gearing up for another significant update that -- at a glance, anyway -- brings some pretty awesome new features to the table. On top of a promise that it'll "rectify some issues, [and] optimize performance even further," Sony Ericsson's high-end Symbian set gets WVGA video recording (though VGA remains the default), integrated picture uploads to Facebook and videos to YouTube, DLNA support, sundry "UI improvements," and firmware integration of the Facebook app that's already available on PlayNow . Not bad for a phone that Sony Ericsson could've easily abandoned in favor of support for the Vivaz -- but probably not enough to totally shake the phone's tarnished rep this far into the game

Palm outs SDK for webOS 1.4
Lagging by the big OTA push by just a couple short days, Palm has published its SDK for devs looking to target webOS 1.4 -- and it's got some pretty important changes in the mix. Besides the obvious addition of Flash 10.1 on the Pre, 1.4 now incorporates WebKit 4 (along with an updated V8 JavaScript engine), better conformance with the HTML5 Media API spec, and additions to the platform's camera API to interact with the new video recording support. It sounds like a must-have download if you're looking to target Pres or Pixis any time soon, so have at it, won't you

Video recording coming to all webOS devices in February (updated: Flash, too!)
High on the list of conspicuously-missing features for the Pre and Pixi has been video recording -- but happily, Palm's looking to close that gap shortly.

Apple greenlights ridiculously crappy video recording app for older iPhones
At just 3fps and 213 x 160 resolution, we hesitate to call iVideoCamera a "video recording app" -- it's really more of an extremely low-res continuous-shooting still camera -- but at least owners of iPhone 3Gs and original iPhones now have some sort of option for capturing their most treasured moments as one o' them newfangled moving pictures. Jailbroken solutions are nothing new , but this marks the first time a video recording app for older iPhones made it all the way through to the App Store, and at just 99 cents, it may not really matter that the output sucks
