Spain, Portugal vow to kill off roaming fees

The European Union has been trying to put a tight lid on roaming charges between its member nations for some time (just imagine if you paid roaming fees on interstate travel, Americans!), but it's been slow going -- though there are new per-minute caps in place this year, the fact that the concept of roaming exists at all, particularly when only a handful of companies control all of Europe's wireless landscape, is a little crazy.

OpenWays makes your smartphone a hotel room key, provides a different kind of ‘unlock’

For years now, hotel chains have been toying with alternative ways to letting patrons check-in, access their room and run up their bill with all-too-convenient in-room services. Marriott began testing smartphone check-ins way back in 2006, and select boutique locations (like The Plaza Hotel in New York and Boston's Nine Zero) have relied on RFID, iris scanners, biometric identifiers and all sorts of whiz-bang entry methods in order to make getting past a lock that much easier (or harder, depending on perspective). If an expired visa is linked to your Nexus card, can you still travel with it with no problems?

I wanted to emigrate to the United States and decided to give up my application for change of status. The fact is that I had a K-3 visa that was tied to my Nexus card. If I travel by bus or car from Vancouver to Seattle that cause problems if I use my NEXUS card?
