BlackBerry Storm 3 detailed in training slide: same look, more RAM?

For those of you hoping that RIM could pull off a handset capable of challenging the incredibly slim and futuristic tree-borne Android handsets in the touchphone hardware arena, you'll have to dream past the Storm 3 . From the looks of it, we'll be getting a fairly minor "refresh" of the Storm 2, according to our tipster, with upgrades more designed to accommodate BlackBerry 6 than anything. As seen on the the slide, the phone will double the Storm 2's RAM with 512MB, the camera will be bumped up to 5 megapixels, and the WiFi is being shifted to 802.11n -- a spec RIM is already rocking on the Pearl 3G , so not unprecedented.

LG Sentio priced, dated for T-Mobile

Actually, T-Mobile will do you one better than merely putting a date on the release of the low-end Sentio touchphone -- they'll just go ahead and release it today to make it the carrier's first LG phone ever. That's right: you can now pick up the Sentio in-store and online for $69.99 on contract after $50 mail-in rebate, giving you a trio of threes -- 3-inch display, 3 megapixel cam, and 3G data -- as long as you're happy with a soft-touch blue finish, which is the only option at the moment

Samsung Champ is about as basic as a touchphone’s gonna get

Look, the Star was so 2009 -- if you're curious about Samsung's vision for high-function handsets in developing markets this year, look no further than this C3300K "Champ" that was announced this week. This 2.4-inch little guy takes us back to an era when 3G was just a twinkle in the GSMA's eye, featuring quadband GSM plus EDGE, a QVGA display, 1.3 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.1, and microSD expansion up to 8GB

Nokia Nuron for T-Mobile review

When the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was released a little more than a year ago, we thoroughly panned it in our review -- put simply, it felt undercooked and uncompetitive in a world where webOS, iPhone OS, and Android were all realities, regardless of Nokia's existing smartphone dominance through much of the world. More than a year later, we're now presented with the Nokia Nuron , a pretty close relative of that first S60 5th Edition device from back in the day; it's simply a carrier-branded version of the 5230 , which itself is a lower-end variant of the 5800.
