Psion veteran Charles Davies leaves Nokia for TomTom

Charles Davies might not be as immediately recognizable as some other industry veterans, but anyone that's been following this business since the early days of PDAs will no doubt be familiar with his work. Davies was Psion 's very first employee way back in 1981, and stuck with the company all the way up until 2003 when he left to join Symbian, before moving on to Nokia with the rest of the Symbian staff a few years later. During that time, Davies helped Psion pioneer the use of flash memory and custom silicon in handhelds, served as Symbian's CTO, and helped Nokia head up the strategy and architecture team for its R&D division.

PlayStation emulator coming to Android, courtesy of yongzh and ZodTTD

If you don't know the names yongzh and ZodTTD , you can certainly be forgiven, but they're basically the cell phone emulation dream team -- where the former has been cranking out high-quality Nintendo and Sega emulators for Android, the latter is the one who brought PSX to iPhone , iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre . Nokia ‘Saga’ accidentally outed in AccuWeather ad?

We're not quite sure what to make of this, but it appears that the AccuWeather app for S60 5th Edition devices has gone ahead and leaked an unknown Nokia device -- the "Saga" -- which appears to be a sort of N97 Mini Mini (two "Minis" on purpose there) that trades the tilting screen for a more traditional flat sliding one. As Symbian-Guru points out, Nokia itself doesn't typically assign names to its handsets -- it leaves that job to its carrier partners -- so this might simply be a branded version of one of the existing N97 variants, but naturally, the leaked device theory is juicier. At any rate, if this were to come Stateside, they might have a bit of trouble slipping it by Samsung since they've already got a Saga in the mix here, so we'll be keeping an eye out for some blander N, E, or X series label if this gets real.
