Dell intros XCD28 and XCD35 Android phones for India

If Windows Phone 7 isn't your thing and the upcoming Venue doesn't interest you -- or hey, if you just live in India -- you might be interested to know that Dell has just introduced a pair of new India-specific (for the moment, anyway) Android phones designed specifically to be sold for a song without getting a carrier subsidy involved. First up, the XCD28 sports a 2.8-inch display (hence the name), a 3.2 megapixel cam, 200MB of internal storage expandable with up to 16GB worth of microSD, and FM radio; it sells for Rs. 10,990 (about $247) devoid of a contract

Ripxx ski app for iPhone great for athletes, useless for Epyx Winter Games

We received an interesting email from Ripxx this morning, stating that due to an unprecedented outpouring of comments on our previous post for its sports GPS , the company's gone and developed its very own iPhone app. That's right, instead of planning your ski trips around a piece of dedicated hardware, you can now do it on the same device you use to read Texts From Last Night while sitting on the loo

Exclusive: future LG Android phone for Verizon sports LTE

We were just handed this image with very little detail other than the fact that we're looking at "a future LG high end Android phone for Verizon," but we can deduce a few things: one, and perhaps most notably, you can just barely make out an LTE logo toward the bottom of the back. That likely makes this one of the six-odd LTE phones Verizon has publicly said are slated for the first half of next year. Secondly, it's got an HD camera of some sort -- probably indicating either 720p or 1080p capture -- and finally, it appears to have a huge, mirrored display and possibly a front-facing cam in the upper right

Puma Phone review

So it's true, we're living in an age where people would shamelessly line up for certain electronics and luxurious fashion items. Why? Just because they can, and for that reason, some swanky outlets -- namely Christian Dior , Prada , Giorgio Armani , Dolce Gabbana , and Versace -- have attempted to exploit our gadget lust by offering self-branded phones at extortionate prices

HTC PD29110 Windows Phone 7 device hits the FCC, sports T-Mobile frequencies

Sometimes FCC filings contain reams of glorious details , but there's very few here -- just the alphanumeric designation for a HTC Windows Phone 7 handset with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth + EDR, and a set of cellular frequencies (including AWS) that all but peg the phone for a T-Mobile launch.

Motorola Citrus budget candybar outed by Verizon, sports Android 2.1 and Blur

Motorola must've been real busy lately. Sharing the Verizon limelight with the Droid Pro today is this new entry-level Citrus candybar, which is actually the WX445 we saw exclusively back in July. Sadly, said handset will still be shipped with a slightly disappointing Android 2.1 OS and Blur skin, but hey, we did say it's entry level, right?

Samsung Wave 723 announced, Bada keeps chugging

The original Samsung Wave -- which happens to be the first production Bada device -- sports some pretty awesome specs, which probably doesn't make much sense for a proprietary platform that walks a very fine line between the smartphone and feature phone labels, has an immeasurably small fraction of the market uptake Android has, and isn't available in any form in the US. To that end, Sammy's toning things down a bit for round two in the form of the oddly-named Wave 723, which eschews the original's Super AMOLED display for a 3.2-inch TFT LCD but still manages to squeeze in 802.11n plus a 5 megapixel AF cam with LED flash

Modu’s T-Phone captured in the wild chilling with Android? (video)

Look everyone, it's the littlest handset come to deliver Android cheer. Last month we got word that Modu was working on a touchscreen device dubbed the T-Phone , featuring full 3G and microSD expansion, also referred to as the Modu 2 . Now we have video of what looks to be the same phone out in the wild, running an early version of Android (possibly 1.6) and looking rather fit next to an iPhone and an HTC G2 .

HTC Hengshan and Huashan for Windows Phone 7 make another online cameo

The Android-powered Vision isn't HTC's only possible user agent-borne leak from this week. Now comes word of two potential Windows Phone 7 devices , the HuaShan and T5588 HengShan. The former has a 480 x 800 screen (no obvious relation to the Mondrian spotted yet) while the latter sports the more typical 320 x 480
