Dell Venue Thunders into Korea this month with Android 2.2 and 4.1-inch Gorilla Glass screen
Dell's keeping up its usual habit of sneaking devices out with today's announcement of the Dell Venue for launch in South Korea.

LG LU3000 taking its 1080p talents to South Korea in a week’s time
Ah, LG's LU3000, the sprightly young thing that made the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S look a wee bit aged in some YouTube tests has now become official over in South Korea. It boasts a 1GHz TI OMAP3630 chip, allowing it to jot down 1080p video playback on its spec sheet, which in turn goes very nicely with the built-in HDMI port and DLNA wireless capabilities. A 3.8-inch screen offers an 800 x 480 resolution, there's a 5 megapixel camera around the back, and a mildly skinned Android 2.2 performs the OS duties

LG enlists ‘Z Boy’ to promote Optimus Z, resembles an open source Zorro
Now that LG's new Optimus Z is available from both KT and SK Telecom in South Korea, it's obviously time to promote it -- and how better to promote a hot new smartphone launch than with a random mashup of the green Android dude and Zorro? Actually, this fella is actually "Z Boy," a tribute to the "Z" in "Optimus Z" -- but he's sporting the Zorro look as he wanders the streets of Seoul for the next month looking for victims potential buyers for the 5 megapixel, WVGA-equipped Android handset. With major entrants from Motorola, Samsung, and LG in the market, Android competition in South Korea is nearly as heated as it is across Europe and North America -- so yes, if you've got to win over a few customers with a big, lovable robot wearing a face mask, then by all means, LG, do your thing.

iPhone 4 coming to Canada and 16 other countries July 30th
Not much of a surprise here, but Apple has now finally revised its previous "by the end of July" iPhone 4 launch timeframe for some of the remaining international countries to a specific date: July 30th. That includes Canada, a whole host of European countries, plus Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. Absent from that list, however, is South Korea, which had been among the "end of July" group, but has apparently been pushed back to an unspecified date due to a delay in receiving government approval

KT brings the Nexus One to South Korea, complete with Froyo
The Nexus One may have taken a little while to reach South Korea, but it looks like KT is doing its best to make up for lost time -- the carrier has just announced that it will not only be offering the Nexus One, but that it will come complete with Android 2.2 (a.k.a. Froyo ). True to Nexus One form, you'll be able to snag the phone off-contract for 699,600 won (or about $576), but you'll also be able to get it for just 150,000 won (or $125) on a two-year contract.

Nexus One, Nokia X6 coming to South Korea in June
Like Japan, South Korea has a wireless industry that's typically leaps and bounds ahead of just about everywhere else in the world -- but the country has never been a Symbian or Android stronghold, so it's actually not much of a surprise that two big recent releases are just now heading over there this Summer.

LG Optimus Q launching with Android 1.6? (update: yep!)
You'd like to think that any Android device launching these days would come equipped with an absolute bare minimum of Eclair , but that's not the case; Dell's Streak , for example, will be coming out of the gate with Android 1.6 -- and seemingly so will LG's LU2300 Optimus Q.

LG LU2300 Android handset gets photos, ‘April or May’ release date?
Actual, honest-to-goodness photos of what is presumably the Korea-only LG LU2300 handset popped up on a site in the SK recently, and like a family pet that plays professional sports (guess who watched Air Bud last night?) it's certainly captured the imagination of the Android-lovin' world at large. The thing is said to sport a 3.5-inch (800 x 480) AMOLED capacitive touch screen, Android 2.1, landscape mode slide keyboard, support for DivX files, a 5 megapixel (720p video) camera with geo-tagging, WiFi, GPS, DMB tuner and -- last but not least -- a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The stats are consistent with what we've heard before, and now we have a possible release date: April or May.

LG’s LU2300 set to challenge Samsung’s M100S for Korean Android dominance?
Eternal archrivals-to-the-death Samsung and LG have a tendency to match one another tit for tat in virtually every consumer electronic category, but for whatever reason, LG's been far less interested in going for broke with Android over the past year -- though a preoccupation with Windows Phone 7 Series is a solid guess at this point. Things may be changing, though, now that we've got news out of Telecoms Korea that they're prepping a more brutal assault than the weakling GW620 could ever provide in the form of a so-called LU2300 for the domestic market (we're assuming the actual thing will be a little more...

Mobience smallQWERTY keyboard saves the lives of touchscreen detesters
Have any idea what a SureType keypad would look like if it were removed from a BlackBerry and (barely) enlarged? We're guessing it'd look a little something like this
