Puma Phone review

So it's true, we're living in an age where people would shamelessly line up for certain electronics and luxurious fashion items. Why? Just because they can, and for that reason, some swanky outlets -- namely Christian Dior , Prada , Giorgio Armani , Dolce Gabbana , and Versace -- have attempted to exploit our gadget lust by offering self-branded phones at extortionate prices

HP’s McKinney hints that a flexible display Palm device could happen

Speaking at MobileBeat in San Francisco today, HP's Phil McKinney chatted up the company's flexible display tech , which uses rugged Mylar-infused sheets similar to those found in solar panels and can display video while still being bistable the same way E Ink is -- in other words, it'll hold an image without power. Thankfully, this seems to be more than a pipe dream sitting in a lab somewhere, because McKinney went on to say that "these are the kinds of display technologies that will change what we think of in form factors, both in products from Palm with flexible displays, and with HP." In other words, it's entirely within the realm of reason to imagine a bendy webOS device that gingerly sips battery juice -- or stops sipping it altogether -- while you're reading the morning news

Puma Phone now available somewhere you probably don’t live

We never thought we'd live to see the day where we were talking on a shoe, Get Smart -style. Technology still hasn't advanced nearly enough to make authentic shoe-talking anything more than a distant dream, but the next best thing -- a phone from a shoe manufacturer -- is now available. Actually, "available" is a bit of a stretch since the Puma Phone has only launched in nine European, African, and Middle Eastern countries so far, but we'd hope that a wider launch is on the way.

Sagem and Puma 's presser isn't until tomorrow, but they were kind enough to allow us this sneak peek at what exactly they're up to here at MWC . From the corners and sides it's pretty evident that the Puma Phone M1 is a touchscreen affair and sports a large solar panel on its rear side

LG GD510 Pop’s solar panel add-on finally ships

Considering the LG Pop's milquetoast specs, the best thing going for it has to be its trick solar rear that's capable of injecting three minutes of talk time for every eleven minutes of sunshine you pour into it. Problem is, the panel was an accessory that didn't ship in the box -- you had to buy it separately, and back at the Pop's launch, it wasn't available
