Windows Phone 7 limits push notifications to 15 apps, 16th app is out of luck
We're going to cautiously hope that this is one of the many arbitrary limitations in Windows Phone 7 that Microsoft is planning to address in 2011 through updates , but in the meantime, here's a little public service announcement: you can only receive push notifications for up to 15 apps at a time. The 16th app will receive an error internally, which it needs to handle gracefully and in turn communicate to the user in some way to let them know that the new installation won't be able to update live until you uninstall another push-enabled app on the device.

T-Mobile customers being mistakenly shipped Micro SIMs, just begging to get shoved into iPhones
You've got to admit, this is a little weird: we've received a number of tips today about T-Mobile USA customers being shipped Micro SIMs rather than the typical Mini SIMs. We've gotten a picture of just such a module (see above), and you can plainly see it's not a hybrid -- it can't be snapped out as a Mini SIM, meaning that unless you've got an adapter lying around, you need to head into the store to get it swapped out for the right kind. The only consumer devices out there in any measurable quantity right now that make use of Micro SIMs are, of course, the iPad and iPhone 4 -- and when you pair this up with the fact that T-Mobile stores are starting to sell iPhone cables right now, the situation is starting to get wacky.

What happened to AT&T’s Motorola Flipout?
Remember the Sony Ericsson K850 debacle ? AT&T had commissioned a branded version of it, sent promotional materials to stores, and -- at the last possible second -- mysteriously changed its mind, leaving the 5 megapixel candybar dead on arrival

Sprint’s new Airave shipping to customers who ‘qualify’
FierceWireless got the lowdown on the new Airvana-built Airave femtocell that Sprint is shipping, and it turns out there's a good reason why stores we called hadn't heard of it: the carrier's only shipping it to people who pass the test. What test, you ask

Google sells out of Nexus Ones for devs, ‘working hard’ to get more; SLCD not alleviating backorders yet
The Nexus One retail situation has been pretty dire since Google humanely put down its own online store , leaving only paid developers with an easy option to get an unlocked unit (and only an AWS 3G version at that).

AT&T explains, basically ignores criticism for locking down Android handsets
When the Moto Backflip launched we were a wee bit miffed that AT&T stuffed its ROM with what our esteemed Chris Ziegler referred to as "unremovable crapware." But, even more annoying was the handset being locked down to only accept apps installed via the Android Market, preventing users from the wealth of other goodies floating around these great internets. A few months on the situation is still the same for the HTC Aria and the company is responding directly to criticism with a statement that indicates it's all in your best interests: AT&T selected Android Market as the exclusive source for applications because it forces developers to be accountable for the apps they submit

Apple randomly canceling some iPhone pre-orders? Update: AT&T pre-orders too?
We haven't verified exactly what's going on here, but we've gotten several tips tonight from people who've received an iPhone 4 pre-order cancellation email from Apple saying that their order couldn't be authorized. That sounds like an AT&T authorization problem to us, and given the the litany of problems that Apple and AT&T had all week dealing with the huge number of pre-orders , we can't say we're too surprised to hear that the chaos continues.

AT&T having data trouble in parts of Florida
We've been tipped off today that data services are down "in the Southeast," and AT&T is telling us now that the problems are restricted to Jacksonville, Gainesville, and the Florida panhandle -- and as of right now, there's no confirmed ETA for when the situation will be resolved. Here's the official statement we have from the company: "Some AT&T 3G wireless customers in the panhandle, Jacksonville and Gainesville are unable to use data on their devices, but still have voice capabilities. Our techs are working to fix the problem and get to the root cause." Is anyone out there having trouble
