Best Buy getting locked out of Droid Pro and Droid 2 Global for selling them too cheaply?
Drama! We're hearing from many, many tipsters right now that Best Buy has issued a stop-sale on two of Verizon's latest (and presumably more popular) models. Officially it's a "recall" of some sort, but the word on the street is that the carrier's preventing activations from Droid 2 Globals and Droid Pros sold at Best Buy locations.

Qi charger prototype from Sanyo and NTT DoCoMo seeks out, ruthlessly charges stuff
Wireless charging gear compatible with the Qi standard should be hitting shelves any minute now, but NTT DoCoMo's charging base at CEATEC has a completely unnecessary (and completely awesome) trick up its sleeve to set itself apart from the crowd. The prototype -- developed in concert with Sanyo and bearing the Eneloop brand -- gives you some visual indication that a compatible gadget has been detected by displaying a ring of blue LEDs that converges around the device to be charged once you set it down. It's a neat effect...

SLCD-equipped Droid Incredible filtering into retail
Those incoming Droid Incredibles with SLCD displays swapped in for those ultra-scarce AMOLED units are starting to make cameos on store shelves around the country, it seems, which means the supply constraints that have held it back for most of this year should start to evaporate. Of course, the Droid Incredible has been around long enough now so that demand is going to start to diminish naturally anyhow -- so... you know, six of one, half-dozen of the other.

Nokia C7 first hands-on
We've just played with both black and silver versions of Nokia's just-announced C7 -- a phone that you might call an N8 for the masses -- and we think it's probably going to come away with the "sexiest Symbian device" crown by the time it's on shelves. We're a little concerned with screen sensitivity; on both the C7 and C6-01, we had a little difficulty getting home screen swipes to actuate -- but you never know what the deal is with these well-handled protos, so we're going to hold off on passing judgment until we've got retail units in our hands

Windows Phone 7 dev tools go gold September 16, Marketplace taking submissions in October
Microsoft's held the line since its February announce that Windows Phone 7 is going to be ready in time for the holidays this year -- and from what we've seen recently , we believe it -- so today they're announcing another small step in the process by finalizing the dev tools that first bowed at MIX in March. Specifically, the gold build will be hitting streets on September 16, just a little under a month from today, while the Marketplace will start accepting apps sometime in early October

BlackBerry Bold 9650 sales kicking off on Verizon this week?
We can't vouch for the authenticity here, but a shot over Berry Reporter alleges that Big Red will finally start taking orders for the Bold 9650 via direct fulfillment this week -- on June 3, to be exact. Considering Verizon's time-honored tradition of being all over RIM's latest CDMA releases on the double (probably because their development is funded largely by Verizon's orders), we're actually kind of surprised it's not on shelves already; it's possible that Sprint negotiated a short, sweet exclusivity period for itself just to get a little bit of a head start, we suppose.

Spracht Aura EQ (the really real version) hands-on
We got a glimpse at Spracht's new Aura EQ Bluetooth headset back at CES this year , but in reality, we sort of didn't -- what was being shown back then didn't constitute final ID, turns out. The company's back at it here at CTIA showing something closer to what you'll be seeing on store shelves later this half -- though they only had one, and it wasn't in final retail packaging -- so we took a minute to check it out

Verizon prices Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus — offers a free Pixi Plus for limited time
Palm has gone and spilled its Verizon pricing info, and the news is pretty encouraging. The Pre Plus is hitting shelves at a cent under $150, closely followed by the Pixi Plus at $99.99 -- both after $100 mail-in rebate and on two-year commitments. Available to buy from this coming Monday, the new handsets are also incentivized with a free Pixi Plus coming with every purchase -- a limited offer running until February 14.
