Sprint still 3G-$ 10/mo subscription pricing, calling it a “premium data”

Oh, Sprint, you’re a crafty devil. The country’s third largest airline just announced that it is tacking an extra $ 10 monthly premium information “free of charge to all 3G data plan – actually charging a 3G phone owners of the same whole, and the Epic Evo owners pay now 4G services. It is particularly strange, because Sprint hidden price increase in a statement titled “Smartphones Drive Wireless Data Explosion”, which initially appears to be more information before moving on suddenly must defend the additional costs and potshots tiered data plans – we do not know nobody wants to talk about increasing prices, but let’s have gumption, guys. All holders of current 3G plan will not see their rates go up, until they “upgrade or switch to another smartphone,” does not sound like a big family plan, but we will get clarification, and to say you. Either way, we’d say picking up the phone, Sprint 4G just real silly. PR after the break.

Qik charging $5 monthly for EVO 4G video chat?

Last we thought, that mandatory $10 "premium data add-on" for Sprint's EVO 4G would additionally include YouTube and Qik video chat , and well, we may have been only half right. The gang at Android Guys have what's alleged to be a scan from Sprint's training materials, and according to one image, Qik's gonna cost you another $4.99 monthly via PayPal (not through the carrier) to use. We've reached out to see if we can confirm, but if true, it's a bit of a bummer to see the premiums continuing to add up.

Dell Mini 3T1 and Mini 3iX 3G phones spotted with Chinese mobile regulator

If we need another reason to be envious of Chinese residents, it'd be the premium treatment that they're getting from Dell these days. Spotted on Chinese mobile regulator TENAA's website are two 3G phones from seemingly different design departments -- the never-before-seen Mini 3T1 (pictured) is a "TD-SCDMA / GSM dual-mode cellphone" that "supports HSDPA," dons a 2-megapixel camera on the back plus a front-facing one, and we're betting on Ophone for the OS; the second device is the familiar Mini 3iX (an exotic cousin of AT&T's Aero ) that will sport the same old WCDMA radio

Qik Premium: video downloads, higher quality, Nokia only for now

Qik has finally gotten around to charging its customers this week with the announcement of Qik Premium, a new service that employs both a new phone client and some tweaked back-end stuff to offer users a handful of new features. The biggies appear to be MPEG-4 video downloads straight from the uploaded segments on Qik's site and some sort of higher-quality transcoding algorithm with faster playback that won't be available to standard, non-paying folks. That's not all, though -- Qik Premium is the gift that keeps on giving, because they're working on the ability to upload videos from your phone's in-built camera app next
