Microsoft announces Windows Phone 7 sync software for Macs due this year
Even though we kind of saw this coming , it's still nice to hear. Microsoft has gone and done the (nearly) unthinkable, announcing this evening plans for a Mac compatible sync client for its soon-to-be-launched Windows Phone 7 devices. According to a statement from the company issued late in the day, beginning some time "later in 2010" Mac users will be able to live the dream along with their PC counterparts by downloading a beta OS X application which will allow you to sync "select content" from a Mac of their choosing to a Windows Phone.

Nokia N9, E7, C7, or whatever it’s called gets caught on video
The mechanism that opens and closes the articulated display is pretty neat -- but otherwise, there isn't much from Negri Electronics ' video of its mysteriously-obtained Nokia prototype that is likely to raise many eyebrows. The phone -- labeled "C0" but more likely a member of the Nseries or Eseries -- gets poked and prodded over the course of four-odd minutes, revealing a number of ports protected with plastic flaps (micro HDMI included, it seems) along with a good, close look at that expansive QWERTY keyboard. Performance looks reasonable but not mind-blowing -- and we don't want to pass judgment on a software build that's likely got months of work left before retail -- so this could be a reasonable option for N97 and N97 Mini owners looking for an upgrade with a capacitive display and some ultra-mild UI rework.

Motorola ‘jumped the gun’ with details of Droid’s Android 2.1 update
Turns out all that excitement and frothing at the mouth was for nothing, as Motorola's surprisingly nippy move to Android 2.1 on the Droid isn't going to be all that rapid after all. The Moto Owners' Forum manager has admitted that a few trigger-happy souls rushed out the details of the Droid's upcoming OS update ahead of time, and the current situation is quite as it was before this news: your Droid will be chomping down on an Eclair , just not as soon as you might have been led to hope
