Magellan RoadMate GPS app updated for iOS 4, includes real-time traffic and multitasking
Magellan may not be the head honcho when it comes to standalone PNDs here in North America, but that's not stopping the outfit from keeping its iOS app up to snuff. With TomTom, Navigon and Garmin all introducing iOS 4-compatible apps over the past few months, Magellan has finally done likewise -- version 1.3 of the app now enables navigation to occur in the background, meaning that iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 users will still hear turn-by-turn guidance while using another application.

RIM’s Blackberry Tablet might be seven inches, feature dual cameras and 1GHz CPU?
The rumor mill's been churning out quite the picture of RIM's Blackberry tablet over the past several months, and it's a research analyst who's most recently picked up the brush -- Ashok Kumar of Rodman & Renshaw, to be precise, who anticipates a 7-inch touchscreen device with a 1GHz processor, plus front- and back-facing cameras for video chat. Since that's a good 1.9 inches smaller than the slate rumored a couple months back, this latest spiel fills us with doubt...

T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network goes live in New York City
Manhattan is in need of as much wireless love as the nation's carriers can give it -- and shy of WiMAX or LTE , the next best thing is some good, old-fashioned HSPA+ with theoretical speeds going all the way up to 21Mbps.

Meganet’s Dominator I snoops on four GSM convos at once, fits in your overnight bag
"Dominator I" sounds more like a monster truck than a collection of small boxes that collectively erase 20 years of relatively secure wireless phone service, doesn't it? Alas, what you're looking at here is a convenient, plug-and-play solution for exploiting the hard work the world's hacking community has put into cracking the A5/1 encryption used on GSM networks in Europe and the US over the past few years. The system consists of two nondescript white boxes, two directional antennas that you'll point in the direction of your victim, and a laptop that you can use to get a glimpse at all of the phones currently connected to your nearest cell site and record up to four active calls simultaneously -- and if you're more of the text messaging type, Dominator I's got you covered there, too, with full access to SMS.

LG’s LU2300 set to challenge Samsung’s M100S for Korean Android dominance?
Eternal archrivals-to-the-death Samsung and LG have a tendency to match one another tit for tat in virtually every consumer electronic category, but for whatever reason, LG's been far less interested in going for broke with Android over the past year -- though a preoccupation with Windows Phone 7 Series is a solid guess at this point. Things may be changing, though, now that we've got news out of Telecoms Korea that they're prepping a more brutal assault than the weakling GW620 could ever provide in the form of a so-called LU2300 for the domestic market (we're assuming the actual thing will be a little more...

PS3 brightness flickers on 1080p
I have noticed over the past few times that I watched a Blu-Ray movie through my ps3 at 1080p the brightness or maybe contrast flickers up and down every few seconds the image will momenterily get brighter then return to normal, sometimes repeatedly like a strobe and sometimes just once.At first I thought it was just during darker scenes but have realised that it's all the time but it's just easier to notice in the darker scenes. DVD Blu-Ray and game playing are absolutely fine at 1080i only seems to effect it on 1080p.my TV is a RCA 32-inch High Definition LCD i need some tips or a fix to this problem thanks.
