T-Mobile to intro $10 data plan for smartphone data lightweights?
It's getting pretty clear that T-Mobile is rethinking its mobile data strategy, what with all the prepaid plans , data throttling and WiFi calling going on, and TmoNews says it isn't done shaking things up -- the carrier will reportedly introduce a 200MB data plan specifically for smartphone owners at $10 a month. Before you voice your hatred of tiered data pricing, know that Magenta will reportedly retain the existing $30 unlimited data plan, unlike its blue-and-white rival , and customers who pick the cheaper option will apparently be able to upgrade on the fly.

BlackBerry Bold 9650 gets a fresh 6.0 leak, might be stable this time
BlackBerry 6 has yet to hit any non-touchscreen (or non- Torch , for that matter) devices in an official capacity, but goodness knows that doesn't mean there aren't binaries floating around. A version labeled 6.0.0.222 for the Bold 9650 offered by the likes of Sprint, Verizon, and US Cellular has recently hit the streets, and it's apparently a good deal more solid than the older 6.0.0.80 that had been leaked previously -- so if you're the enterprising type and you've no interest in waiting for your carrier to get their butt in gear, this might be an option worth investigating. Proceed with caution as always, of course..

iPhone 4 is unlocked in Canada, too
Americans: gaze upon your neighbors around you if you want to see what a healthy GSM ecosystem looks like. Okay, we're sure many of our Canadian friends would disagree that the Rogers / Bell / Telus oligopoly is anything close to "healthy," but nonetheless, we're still envious of the fully-unlocked option Apple is offering for all iPhones in the online store -- just like the UK -- along with a promise that a "reduced initial price with a contract directly from your wireless carrier" if you're still interested in getting tied up in a contract. That's a lot closer to the European phone sales model, and it's a model American carriers have never even come close to touching

Microsoft tweaks Windows Phone Marketplace policies for the better
Previously, the $99 that Windows Phone devs paid annually to get access to the Marketplace covered up to five app submissions -- but Microsoft looks like it's willing to play ball in an effort to drum up more interest in third-party development ahead of Windows Phone 7's release by chucking the five-app cap. Well, sort of -- paid apps will have unlimited submissions, but free apps will still be limited to five per yearly cycle, with additional submissions running $19.99 each.

Palm suddenly means business with games, heading to GDC this year
That was a quick turnaround, wasn't it? Palm wasted no time in retailing 3D games that are as visually engaging as the best the iPhone has to offer just as soon as it made the big announcement back at CES, and now it's taking things to the next level by heading out to GDC in San Francisco this March.
