Rogers lined up to get LG GT540, Neon 2?
The LG Neon's spiritual successor actually bowed a few months ago (February, to be exact) as the GT350 , but it looks like Rogers -- which continues to carry the original Neon -- is finally getting ready to unleash this thing as the Neon 2. Dummies for the new models are starting to roll into stores, it seems, alongside those of the GT540, a midrange Android-powered slate that we actually first saw all the way back at CES this year . Though official pricing and availability aren't known, we wouldn't expect either one to command much dough -- and indeed, MobileSyrup is quoting a CAD $29.99 ($29) sticker price on a new three-year deal

RIM launches BlackBerry 6 platform
It's been teased since WES back in April -- but with the launch of the Torch today, RIM had to come clean with all the details on its thoroughly refreshed BlackBerry 6 operating system, too. Besides the obvious name change from "BlackBerry OS" to simply "BlackBerry," the software features countless updates, most notably new universal search functionality, social network aggregation, WiFi-powered media sync with your desktop music collection, and an all-new (and desperately needed) WebKit -based browser with support for HTML5. Thankfully, RIM has also committed to bringing BlackBerry 6 as an upgrade to at least a few recent models -- the Bold 9700 , Bold 9650 , and Pearl 3G , to be specific -- "subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead." Follow the break for the full press release and video teaser

Apple delays white iPhone a second time, won’t ship until ‘later this year’
Man, there's about a zero percent chance that Steve Jobs and company are happy about this. Just days after shocking the market with higher-than-expected profits and revenues , Apple is having to grit its teeth once more with yet another iPhone 4 problem.

Samsung Galaxy S review shootout: Captivate for AT&T and Vibrant for T-Mobile
We've got to hand it to Samsung with its Galaxy S line. Coordinating the launch of a single family of devices across all four national US carriers (plus a regional or two) is a feat very rarely accomplished, and usually reserved for really unique handsets that those carriers wouldn't be able to effectively source from anyone else; HTC's Touch Pro2 is a prime example of that. Add to that the murky issue of exclusivity periods..

Unlocked HTC Hero gets Android 2.1 update — no, for real this time
False starts aside, that promised late June Android 2.1 upgrade for the GSM version of the HTC Hero is finally here -- for unlocked models, anyhow. It seems that users are being greeted with an update clocking in at nearly 80MB, and despite HTC's own warning to the contrary, apps aren't being wiped, so you should be able to undertake the endeavor pretty safely. Orange and T-Mobile versions of the phone apparently haven't yet begun to see the rollout, but the wait shouldn't be terribly long now -- meanwhile, let us know how your upgrade experience goes in comments, folks
