Motorola Spice is the Brazilian Android portrait slider of your mid-range dreams

Hey, remember that weirdo Motorola XT300 portrait slider we saw with hints of Droid branding back in August?

Virgin Mobile scooping up Samsung Intercept

One great thing about being owned by Sprint is that you can sneak a handset here and there into your own lineup, which is exactly what Virgin Mobile has done in adding the midrange Intercept from Samsung to its range. Actually, it's not in the range just yet -- Virgin's Facebook page says that we should "stay tuned over the next few weeks" to find out the details, which leads us to believe we might see a launch (or at least a launch date announcement) around CTIA early next month. Not the awesomest Android phone in the world, sure, but for a carrier traditionally dominated by low-end prepaid gear, it's a solid addition, we'd say.

LG E720 with Android leaks: it’s no Galaxy S killer

The great thing about Android is that it does a reasonably good job scaling from the high end of the hardware spectrum all the way down to the lowest of the low -- and it's on that cautionary note that we show you this alleged LG E720 that popped up on a Polish site over the weekend. We're apparently looking at a Froyo-equipped device featuring a 3.2 inch display -- which we're fairly certain will fall short of WVGA resolution -- along with Qualcomm's midrange MSM7227 core and a 5 megapixel camera around back. In other words, Galaxy S owners, rest easy: LG doesn't have your phone in its sights..

Motorola Quench XT5 diagrammed, spec’d?

If you lost interest after seeing the picture, we can't necessarily say we blame you -- trackballs are so 2009 -- but be that as it may, Motorola still hasn't announced or released its long-rumored Quench XT5 model.

Motorola mini Droid slider caught by Mr. Blurrycam

Okay, this one's a complete and very welcome surprise -- some extremely blurry pictures and a quick video of what appears to be a smaller Motorola portrait QWERTY Android slider for Verizon just popped up on the Chinese Hiapk forums -- and yes, it's got the glowing red Droid eye.

HTC ‘Vision’ finally bringing high-end QWERTY to Android?

For a company with as rich of a reputation for landscape QWERTY sliders as HTC has, you'd think they'd be tripping over themselves to release a truly high-end Android phone with a keyboard, but not so much -- the closest they've come so far would be the midrange myTouch 3G Slide , and that puppy ain't even out yet. We broke the news last night about three seemingly new names for upcoming HTC devices -- Vision, LED, and Glacier -- and Dutch site Tweakers.net is now reporting on a user agent profile for the Vision that lists the device featuring that mythical holy trinity: WVGA display, QWERTY, and Android.

LG’s GT540 mixes Android 2.0, pretty, and low-end

LG made the bold leap to Android 2.0 with the low-to midrange GT540 it's showing this week, turning up the style dial a couple notches in a handful of colors (white, pink, dark gray, and black) with stylized wavy backs, chrome accents, and rounded edges.
