Google adds AT&T billing to Android Market payment options

Having rolled out to T-Mobile just about a year ago, Google’s celebrating the anniversary of its Android Market carrier billing feature in the US by expanding the service to AT&T. Put simply, this means that if you’re using an Android device on an AT&T line, you’ll no longer need to use a credit card — you can just bill your purchases straight to your AT&T bill, which is painless… almost too painless, really, if you’re the compulsive type. And no, we’re not aware of a way to bill a Froyo update for your Captivate to your account — but believe us, we’ll keep on looking.

Just as question asks, what is your favourite application paid or free that you use on a regular basis? It could be on nexus or another android phone.
I’ve been looking into getting an android phone from verzion, but I am a REALLY heavy texter, I text about 30,000 texts per month, and I want a phone that is easy to text on and isn’t difficult to use. Right now I have an env3, and I absolutely love the keyboard layout, but the phone has so many glitches.
Also, I’m not the most careful with my phone. So I want a phone that won’t break if dropped.
Kindle for Android updated with periodicals and integrated web store, can be installed on SD card
Version 2.0 of Amazon's Kindle for Android software has snuck out tonight, bringing with it access to the company's library of newspapers and magazines, the ability to purchase content in-app, and the freedom to choose where you want to store the app itself, which is now happy to reside on your microSD card. Other additions include social networking updates of your reading progress, the appearance of chapter titles in the reader status bar, zoom for images and graphics, and the volume keys doubling up as your page turners should you wish them to do so. The updated app's available in the Market now -- you know what to do with that QR code, right?

Dell Venue Pro gets FCC certification — with AT&T 3G
If we had a dollar for every time we heard someone lament, "if only the Venue Pro worked on AT&T," we'd have... like, 30 dollars. At least! It's on that note that we bring news to you this evening of a new Venue Pro variant in the FCC's archives sporting WCDMA Band II and V support, which is exactly what you'd need to get fancy on the 3G networks of AT&T, Rogers, Bell, or Telus.

Google TV gets a major update with new Netflix, movable Dual View, Android remote app support
The first update for the Google TV platform since its release is now available on Logitech and Sony devices, and takes major strides towards addressing issues we pointed out in our review . The antiquated Netflix app is now sporting a new HTML5 based UI that resembles the one seen on the PlayStation 3 , while Dual View has addressed one of our biggest complaints by allowing users to move and resize the video window at will. Another major upgrade is support for an Android remote app arriving today with iPhone version "coming soon." The last major update should be appreciated by Kevin Bacon stalkers enthusiasts with a new info page for movies that pulls in plenty of relevant information and availability online and from the listings all on one page

Android Market update brings long-awaited ‘Related’ tab, similar app suggestions
Remember that "Related" / "Similar" tab we spotted in Google's own Gingerbread video ? Looks as if you won't have to wait for Android 2.3 to enjoy the spoils of having El Goog sort out what similar apps you may like after you download one

Modu barely alive after failed bid for capital, laying off most of its employees
Modu hasn't really stormed the market with any of its miniature offerings just yet, and even with the just-announced Modu T and the upcoming Android-based Modu W offering a chance to turn things around, it looks like Modu is up against the financial ropes. Founder Dov Moran just announced that the company had failed to raise money in Tel Aviv, and he's going to have to lay off most of his workforce to stay alive. Modu currently employs around 30 people, and it's naturally going to have trouble building and selling phones with any fewer, but Dov says the company will "continue to sell its products" and he's going to be on the hunt for "other sources of capital." TAT releases trio of awesome live wallpapers for Android
Android comes with a pretty great set of live wallpapers built in -- and some manufacturers add their own, too -- but if you're ready for a change of pace, the UI nerds (we mean that in the best way possible) over at TAT have just dropped three of 'em for free. Called Artemia, Blue Range, and Retro Pixels, the trio run the gamut from dreamy aquascape to eBoy -esque 3D environment to 8-bit gaming, and they're all interactive in one way or another -- poking and shaking both seem to have interesting effects. They're in the Market now, so you may as well grab if you've got a compatible phone

It aims to offer a faithful reproduction of the printed version of the paper while augmenting it with full-screen video, market data, customization options, and the ability to save articles for offline reading.

YouTube Remote app released, controls Leanback on GTV or PC from your Android phone
We weren't completely in love with Google TV's YouTube Leanback experience when we gave the platform a run through , but that could change now that the YouTube Remote app has been released to the Android Market. Users pair the devices simply by signing into YouTube Leanback on the TV or PC and the app on the phone with the same account, then select a video on the phone and send it to the bigger screen with a press of a button.
