Can’t open video files on RAID drives but work on non-RAID drives
My file server has a 1TB standard SATA drive and a 1.5TB RAID 1 array. Regardless of video file type (AVI, WMV, etc.) every video I try to play on the RAID drive results in a "...file is corrupt" error. But if I copy the same video file to the non-RAID drive, it works perfectly. I also have a quad-core workstation with a 500GB standard SATA drive and a 1TB RAID 1 array. As with the server, all video files on the RAID drive generate the "...file is corrupt" error but work fine if copied to the SATA non-RAID drive. Video files play without a problem inside Windows Media Player from ANY drive source, so it doesn't appear to be a WMP issue. Logic seems to dictate that this is an issue with RAID drives but for the life of me, I can't think of any logical reason why. The RAID controller presents the mirrored drive to the operating system as though it were a single drive and controls mirrored writing to both drives independent of the OS. So why the PS3 sees it differently, I have no idea.

Can I synchronise game saves over the internet between 2 PS3s?
Hi, I have 2 PS3 consoles which would be great, except I have to constantly copy my game saves on a thumbdrive whenever I switch PS3s. Is it possible to get them to synchronise online through my PSN ID on both systems?
