Check it out, Clearwire has decided to do up an Apple-centric version of its Spot 4G hotspot , so it's quite naturally fashioned it in the shape of a Magic Mouse and stuck an i prefix to the front of the device. Really, there's nothing new or Apple-exclusive that we can see here -- up to eight devices can hook up to this portable 4G emitter via WiFi and the only authentication required is a password.

Latest BlackBerry 6 preview proves that the more things change…

To say RIM has a lot riding on BlackBerry 6 is an understatement. With new kids on the block like Android and iOS stepping in with lustworthy apps and attractive UIs, the BlackBerrys have been sitting in a corner BBMing everyone else at the party trying to convince them of its sustained utility. Regardless, the latest tease on the BlackBerry Blogs shows off some of the "fresh, but familiar" elements that are getting polished in the jump from OS 5 to OS 6.

Survey says: most teens don’t have a data plan, almost all send texts

Microsoft and Verizon might think all the kids want to do with their new Kin phones is pay absurd data rates for a half-baked Twitter experience , but it turns out Generation Upload is still actually just Generation Text Message. That's at least the word according to a Pew Internet Research survey published on April 20th and neatly summed up by a new Flowlogic infographic published today -- only 23 percent of American teenagers with cellphones use social networks with their phones, while 72 percent of all teens use text messaging.

iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 2 busts loose

You've got to be one of the cool kids that shelled out a Benjamin to get into the iPhone Developer Program to get access, but if you're already a card-carrying member, it looks like you've now got a green light to download beta 2 of the iPhone SDK for OS 3.2 . HDMI 1.1 vs. 1.3 question for the PS3 slim

So I am about to purchase the new slim (250gb) PS3 and I have a couple quesitions about HDMI versions.   I will be conncting this PS3 through an Onkyo SR604 receiever that only supports HDMI 1.1 and then into my TV (Sonya Bravia 40XBR2) which supports HDMI 1.3 (I think?)   Obviously since the middle component is only HDMI 1.1 it will render the sound and video 1.1. Does that matter?
