Bing 2.0 brings better Facebook integration and the impressive Streetside to iPhone (video)
Microsoft just released -- or should we say, Apple just approved -- version 2.0 of the Bing search app for iOS devices. In addition to several other new features including integrated Facebook Likes on search results (really!?) and in-app checkins to Facebook and Foursquare, Bing now comes packing Streetside, something that first blew us away as Street Slide when it was still in the labs at Microsoft Research.

Mobile Gmail site adds features, comes to 44 more languages
Previously a US English exclusive, Google has just turned loose a new version of its shockingly-good mobile Gmail site that can be used in some 44 additional languages, including Arabic, Vietnamese, and just about everything in between (though no Esperanto or Klingon yet, we're afraid). Perhaps even better, though, the latest version adds true offline support, label management, smart links for content that can be viewed or used in other Google products, and more -- oh, and if your phone's default language is set to one of the 45 that are supported, the interface will automatically use it. We might recommend you just check it out yourself -- it's available on iOS and Android -- but if you're into cute cartoon representations of email UIs, you could check out Goog's official video after the break

Google Instant for mobile studies abroad: now in 40 countries, 28 languages
We'll keep it short and to the point: Google Instant for Mobile -- that is, for iOS4 and Android 2.2 devices and up, officially -- has taken an accelerated language program or two. Or 28, rather, representing 40 countries.

ComScore: Android keeps chugging, BlackBerry falters, world awaits Windows Phone 7′s numbers
Compared to last month's report , it's more or less business as usual in ComScore's latest smartphone market share numbers for the three-month period ending in October, but there are a few interesting points worth calling out. Most notably, RIM's decline seems to have accelerated -- they've lost a claimed 3.5 percent of the US market in the latest period compared to 2.8 percent prior, which means they're now down to 35.8 percent. Of course, that's still more than enough to keep them comfortably in first place, but it's a situation they're going to want to reverse sooner or later -- hopefully with TAT's help

ThinkGeek TK-421 iPhone keyboard case review
We've been eagerly waiting for iPhone cases with built-in keyboards to hit ever since iOS 4 added Bluetooth keyboard support , but they simply haven't materialized like we'd hoped -- in fact, ThinkGeek's TK-421 case is the first to hit the market, nearly eight months after iOS 4 was first announced . Now that it's finally here, we've got to ask -- is this thing the ultimate iPhone accessory? Does the iPhone actually need a keyboard

Exclusive: Woz misquoted! ‘Almost every app that I have is better on the iPhone’
Some comments attributed to Steve Wozniak caused quite a kerfuffle this morning -- according to Dutch paper De Telegraaf , Woz said that "Android phones have more features," which would help Google's OS become the dominant smartphone platform. Obviously, a statement like that from Apple's co-founder rocketed around the web, and it's set off yet another round of furious Android-vs-iOS debate

Comcast Xfinity remote for iPad does streaming video, we record some for you (video)
If you're got Comcast service and an iOS device, there's no reason you can't download the brand spanking new Xfinity TV DVR remote app right now, but it won't have the software's spiffiest feature -- direct-to-device streaming video. That's set to roll out in either "a couple of weeks" or "by the end of the year," depending on which Comcast representative you ask, and we got to try it for ourselves (along with the rest of the app) at the Web 2.0 Summit this week. Right now the featureset is fairly limited -- you just pick programs from a guide and either watch them, beam them to your TV, or tell your DVR to record -- but what is there was leagues more intuitive than a physical remote and about as responsive as we could hope for.

iOS 4.2 bringing speed improvements to iPhone 3G?
The recent iOS updates have mostly been welcome improvements for iPhone 4 and 3GS users, but it's been a decidedly different story for folks sticking to their venerable iPhone 3G . Not only have they been left out of some of the fun , but they were dealt a serious performance hit with iOS 4.0 that was only somewhat corrected by IOS 4.1. Could iOS 4.2 finally bring things back up to speed
