Pre Plus out of stock online at Verizon and AT&T — so what does it mean?

We can all agree that some fresh product is desperately overdue out of Sunnyvale, so the eternal optimists in us want to believe that the departure of the Pre Plus from Verizon's and AT&T's warehouses right now means that we can expect new goodies soon. Of course, it's entirely possible that the two carriers just happened to run out of phones at the same time and that fresh batches are on their way, so it's too early to say these phones are out for the count; then again, when you consider that Sprint somehow still sells the Centro , anything's possible.

RIM averts Saudi Arabia’s BlackBerry messaging ban, negotiates surrender

It took two long years for India to (allegedly) tap BlackBerry traffic , but Saudi Arabia may not have to wait nearly as long; the Wall Street Journal reports that RIM has all but agreed to set up a local server in the country. While we've no details yet on what the deal entails, an unnamed Saudi telecom official said negotiations are already in the final stages. Sorry, RIM, but it looks like Saudi Arabia called your bluff

Ooma Bluetooth Adapter ships, unites cellphone and VoIP in holy matrimony

The home VoIP gurus over at Ooma have started shipping their Bluetooth Adapter, a $29.95 dongle that you plug into your Telo to make awesome things happen. The accessory actually works two totally different ways: it makes it so that you can answer Ooma calls on your Bluetooth headset, and it also acts as a handsfree for your cellphone, letting you answer mobile calls on any landline receiver in your house -- a pretty neat trick, if you ask us. The adapter's only available online through Ooma's site for the moment; follow the break for the company's full press release.

Versace’s first phone gets FCC approval, is actually the LG GD970?

So check this out: remember how fashion house Versace announced a few months back that it had teamed up with France's ModeLabs to put together its own designer handset? Well, we're pretty sure we've spotted it in the FCC's files today as the "VER-01" -- there's no trace of Versace branding in what few documents aren't under confidentiality at this point, but the model code combined with the fact that this is a ModeLabs filing is enough to connect the dots.

Samsung SHW-M120S to be first Android phone with Bluetooth 3.0?

Samsung's all about records: firsts , biggests , smallests , thinnests , you get the idea. Indeed, it was just a few weeks ago that the company managed to slip the very first Bluetooth 3.0 certified handset through -- but these guys never rest, and it looks like they're already prepping to follow up that feat by throwing Android into the mix. The Bluetooth SIG is showing certification for an SHW-M120S model that apparently features a 3.3-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 5 megapixel autofocus primary cam plus VGA secondary, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA, and -- yes, you guessed it -- a Bluetooth Core Version of 3.0, meaning you'll likely be able to fling files around to your house full of Bluetooth 3.0-capable devices with the greatest of ease.

Why does my laptop’s touchpad not work in a certain area of my house?

When you try to use a laptop in my room the touchpad refuses to work properly. This happens everywhere in my bedroom, except the far corner of the window (and even then, the touchpad has its moments). Can I switch to any other room in the house and the phenomenon does not exist. Where in the room, trying to move the touchpad will make the mouse pointer to jump up and down sporadically and resist attempts to move more horizontally. Sometimes the mouse pointer will jump up and down the screen by itself without anything close to the touchpad. It seems worse the more I come to chambre.J window ‘I saw this with three laptops so far (part I used in the room), two other forces and Sager. Wireless mouse and USB mouse works correctement.Je know that keyboards work using the capabilities of the finger, but this is confusing me. And their link to electromagnetivity swirling around my bedroom? The room is probably dusty, but certainly not more than my dorm at school, or any number of other rooms in which the laptops work pretty well. You mean a build up or static electricity? Would have an impact on something, like touching the metal on the computer must remove my finger all the expenses in excess. . .

LG GD880 Mini briefly caught on video

So it turns out LG really wasn't messing around with the "Mini" name on its new GD880 full touchscreen set that's likely due to break out at its MWC open house next week, because our dear colleagues at Engadget Spanish have scored a quick video of the thing -- and goodness, it's small. F480 owners and fans are probably going to feel right at home with this thing, a phone that LG claims is the world's smallest with a 3.2-inch display.
