Sit back, relax, grab a controller, and enjoy some obsessive-compulsive button mashing while you work in that body-sized groove into the couch… that’s not the M.O. for the console makers this year. You don’t have to embrace the jumping, hand-waving, and other methods of physical exertion, but it’s definitely the “it” gaming hardware of this holiday season. Be sure to triple-check just what box your loved ones play on, and click on through for our gaming gift suggestions.

Our eyes were drawn to an FCC filing this morning from a California start-up by the name of Zelfy; a quick glance at Zelfy’s site reveals that they’re in “stealth mode,” but the picture of a woman using an iPhone to control her TV should give you an idea of what these guys are up to. Indeed, digging through the filing shows a product called “Peel” whose central component, the “Peel Fruit,” is a small, battery-powered sphere of an IR blaster that connects to your home network router. Next, you download the Peel app onto the iPhone (or iPod touch) of your choice and control the Fruit over WiFi. The filing reveals little in the way of UI or functionality, but the product’s tagline is “every remote and TV guide now on your phone,” so we would assume that you’ll have access to your cable provider’s lineup and schedule from the app. More on this one just as soon as Zelfy decides to emerge from stealth mode, we suppose.

Please don’t move this to the COD forums because I can never get a serious answer there.

Ok, so i am having problems connecting to my friend on codmw2. we have been playing together for a month with no problems, though. based on an internet search, it’s because my NAt isn’t all the way open. on the onlie menu of codmw2, it shows your NAT type. mine usually says OPEN. now, it says MODERATE. this is y i think we can’t connect to each other.

i followed one guide that would assign my ps3 a static ip address and disable the DHCP setting. it worked for my ps3, but it wouldn’t let anything else (home pc, labtop) connect to the internet. so, we had to reset the router with the small button in the back.

then i found another guide that said to put ur ps3 into a DMZ. i did that, and everything seemed to b fine(everything could connect to the internet). after an hour though, it was like our router “crashed”. nothing could connect to the internet. we reset both our modem and router 3 times but nothing would work. we then connected our modem directly to our computer to see if the problem was our internet or router. it worked fine meaning the router was the problem.

so, we left it off for about 24 hours and turned it bac on. now everything is working fine.

before i make any more changes, my question is, how i can make My NAT type say OPEN on codmw2 without “crashing” or affecting everything else on our network?

thank u so much

I recently upgraded the 60GB hard drive in my original PS3 to a WD Scorpio 500GB 2.5 SATA.

I recently upgraded the 60GB hard drive in my original PS3 to a WD Scorpio 500GB 2.5 SATA. I went through all the steps in the guide, and have it working now. However, I have noticed that there are frequent 1-3 second lags occurring during gameplay. Blu-Rays and dvds work fine, but while playing any ps3 disks it is frequently freezing.

Any idea what would cause this or how to fix it?

Thank you!
