HTC Legend coming to AT&T, according to FCC

That ugly, pixelated label doesn't really look like much, does it? Ah, but there's so much going on here! A closer examination reveals that the label is a dead ringer for the label found underneath the endcap of HTC's lovely unibody aluminum Legend -- but this isn't exactly the Legend with which we're already well acquainted

INQ’s Chat 3G gets FCC blessing with US 3G bands

We've known for some time now that socially-connected handset maker INQ would like to eventually cross the pond and sell a device or two on North American soil -- and could the Chat 3G be its opening salvo?

Neutrano’s Nutec WristFone granted FCC approval

Last time we got a look at the Nutec WristFone -- a brainchild of Canadian company Neutrano -- the year was 2009, we were at CTIA , and the prototypes were looking pretty rough and chunky. Sure, the common ancestor of these watchphones is the same typical China-sourced model that you're prone to see in SkyMall every month, but we admired Neutrano for putting some time, energy, and money into customizing the thing and making it just a little more desirable for the North American market.

Palm Pixi Plus for Europe granted student visa, hangs out at FCC HQ

Just a few days after earning its all-important GFC wings , the European flavor of Palm's Pixi Plus has caught a jet plane over to the good ol' US of A where it's picking up FCC approval -- you know, just in case an owner or two ends up deciding to spend some time in the States.

Nokia’s unannounced C3 sees FCC approval

Now that Nokia's one-letter, one-number branding realignment is in full swing, we can probably expect a cascade of thusly-named handsets out of Espoo over the course of 2010 -- a big part of that strategy will likely be the new Cseries, a line designed to thrust S60 into low-end segments of the market traditionally dominated by feature phones. The C5 kicked off that push a few weeks ago, and now it looks like we can expect the C3 to swing in before too long; it's hard to say what kind of specs or ID we can expect here, but judging from the line-art diagram in the filing, it'll be either a slider or a portrait QWERTY device -- it's just too wide for a candybar

FCC Fridays, Saturday Edition

Here we are -- another Saturday, another ironically-named FCC Fridays. As far as we're concerned, there's really no better way to spend a quiet Saturday evening than curled up with a few good SAR reports and authorization letters, so don't be shy -- grab a cup of hot cocoa (with a splash of rum, if you're so inclined) and dig in. AT&T’s Palm Pixi Plus granted the FCC’s best wishes

Alright, kiddies, gather 'round, because it's time for everyone's favorite class: Palm Model Codes 101. As you might recall from Sunnyvale's previous exploits in the FCC's system, P101 devices are Pres, while P121s are Pixis. That part of the code is followed by a three-character string indicating the radio type: EWW for CDMA, UEU for European GSM, and UNA for North American GSM
