Samsung i9100 is the dual-core Galaxy 2, sequel to the Galaxy S?
Along with a Sony Ericsson Anzu , the James Bond of cellphones -- alias Eldar Murtazin -- claims to be playing with a Samsung GT-i9100 right now, calling it the "Galaxy 2" and saying it's "so technically advanced" thanks in part to a dual-core processor. It seems like a long shot that this would be the Cortex-A9-based Orion since chips and development boards are just now being sampled -- but considering how far in advance Murtazin tends to score phones, we can't rule anything out. One possible scenario is that the i9100 could be something akin to a TouchWiz -skinned version of the upcoming Nexus S , much as HTC's Desire was essentially a Sense -skinned version of the Nexus One .

Spain, Portugal vow to kill off roaming fees
The European Union has been trying to put a tight lid on roaming charges between its member nations for some time (just imagine if you paid roaming fees on interstate travel, Americans!), but it's been slow going -- though there are new per-minute caps in place this year, the fact that the concept of roaming exists at all, particularly when only a handful of companies control all of Europe's wireless landscape, is a little crazy.

Navigon’s MobileNavigator comes to US Android devices
Germany navigation firm Navigon's turn-by-turn app for Android has been available in some European countries for much of the year, but it's hitting the US for the first time this week. Major features include the so-called "Reality Scanner," Navigon's take on augmented reality, lane-level navigation, a database of speed and red light cameras (seriously, don't go through red lights, okay?), and "MyRoutes," offering you a selection of up to three routes to your destination based on your driving habits.

Mercedes-Benz updates mbrace app with fancy pants ‘Concierge’ service
Mercedes-Benz just announced a new app that connects its in-car navigation systems with its customers' iPhones. Mbrace version 2.0 still lets drivers unlock their vehicles and, more importantly , find it in a crowded parking lot while adding location-based personal assistance ranging from entertainment, restaurant, directions, and traffic updates via Mercedes-Benz's Concierge service -- assuming you're are an mbrace PLUS customer. Destination information is then fired off directly to your in-vehicle navigation system to get you there.

Bell’s Galaxy S gets front-facing camera, rumored August 6 launch date
It's a crying shame that the American flavors of Samsung's otherwise stunning Galaxy S lack a front facing camera, but even those camped out in the Great White North should know that the European versions ( i9000 ) do have such a feature. Lucky for them, Bell's Galaxy S Vibrant will also have a camera mounted on the front, enabling video chats with a lot less hassle.
