Fring adds Dynamic Video Quality to its video calling apps

Fring is working hard to seize on this (hopefully temporary) gap in the video chat firmament, where Google is lacking in a first party mobile video chat solution, Apple's supposedly open FaceTime standard has yet to be opened, and Skype is dragging its feet on a mobile video call implementation.

N900 can run unmodified webOS games, what can your Linux-based phone do?

Ah, standards. Palm and Nokia know what we're talking about, which is why they support similar methods of developing native Linux apps, namely SDL 1.2. Add on the hardware similarities between the Palm Pre and the N900 (OMAP3430, PowerVR SGX, Open GL ES 2.0 support) and you have a beautiful recipe for cross-platform gaming.

Microsoft to open mobile games studio, develop and incubate Windows Phone 7 titles

Microsoft employees may eat their own dog food , but they won't have to code cross-platform Windows Phone 7 games in their spare time -- Redmond job postings recently revealed that there's a studio for that, which will develop and publish first- and second-party titles on the company's dime.

It sucks that..

I have to get on my 360 so I can chat with my friends on PS3. I hope cross-game chat comes with the new paid service.
