LG Optimus 2X coming to T-Mobile USA by March?
When the Optimus 2X was announced a few days ago, North America was conspicuously left out of the nebulous launch plans mentioned in the press release -- but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not coming. RCR Wireless says it has it on "rather good authority" that LG's beastly Tegra 2 -powered Android phone will in fact see a US launch, and that said launch will be on T-Mobile in late February (which would be right after MWC ) or early March.

LG ‘B’ Android phone caught in the wild, looking thin and ready to spank Super AMOLED
We're still coming down from that rush of adrenaline that accompanied the launch of the dual-core Optimus 2X last night, but we've had a hunch lately that LG is planning on taking Android very seriously in 2011 -- seriously enough to have something even sexier than the 2X up its sleeve. Looks like that sexiness could be delivered in the form of a device codenamed "B," shots of which have been delivered to Phandroid in a direct comparison with the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S -- two handsets we're sure LG would love to embarrass.

RIM beats earnings estimates, falls just shy on subscriber growth; co-CEOs now co-chairmen, too
For now, RIM's looming mindshare problem is more theoretical than it is practical -- as far as Wall Street's concerned, at least -- on today's news that they've beaten the consensus estimates for fiscal Q3 revenue and income with $5.49 billion and $911.1 million, respectively. The company also shipped a record 14.2 million units in the three-month period, up a whopping 40 percent year-over-year, but subscriber additions fell a bit short -- 5.1 million versus the 5.2 million that analysts had counted on.

LG Optimus 2X: first dual-core smartphone launches with Android, 4-inch display, 1080p video recording
That's right, it's official. Needless to say, that LG Star we recently got our paws on is very real, though it won't go by that name at retail -- just as LG's own release materials had suggested , this monster has picked up the Optimus 2X name as it morphs from a prototype into brutally fast, overpowered reality. At the phone's heart beats a dual-core Tegra 2 processor running at 1GHz, the first such configuration to be officially announced by any smartphone manufacturer (though we're expecting others any day now).

Exclusive: LG’s 4-inch Android phone with dual-core Tegra 2 and 1080p video coming in early 2011
Wow. LG did say it'd bring some heat to its Android Optimus line and here's our first look at it, folks! An 8 megapixel camera-wearing, 1080p video-recording, dual-core superphone to appease all the spec fanatics out there. Aimed for release early next year, as the very first dual-core Android handset, this device will finally bring NVIDIA's Tegra 2 into the smartphone realm.

Qualcomm: 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon devices to arrive at end of 2011, 1.2GHz in Q1
Bad news: Qualcomm's just informed us that while it's still on track to ship the juicy 1.5GHz dual-core QSD8672 Snapdragon in Q4 this year, the end-user devices aren't expected to hit the market until the end of 2011 -- potentially almost a whole year later than its previous "early next year" or "by Christmas" prediction . What a shame.

HTC’s dual-mode CDMA / GSM Android slider with 1.2GHz CPU headed to Verizon in 2011?
It's not expected to land at Verizon until sometime in 2011, but it's never too early to take a look at an unannounced Android slider with specs like this. Leaked by Androidswag , the device is purportedly hiding a 1.2GHz processor (would that be dual-core ?) beneath that 4-inch display -- the sweet spot for size and pocketability. The prototype pictured above was apparently sporting a Vodafone SIM card making this a pretty bodacious CDMA / GSM worldphone by the time it lands for retail.

HTC Sense coming to Windows Phone 7, after all
Some cried and some cheered when Microsoft revealed that handset manufacturers couldn't reskin Windows Phone 7 devices wholesale. But as it turns out, at least one major OEM is still banking on software to help differentiate its phones.

LG’s Windows Phone 7 caught in some early packaging, to be dubbed GW910?
LG hasn't been what you'd call "super secretive" with its first Windows Phone 7 hardware (codenamed LG Panther ), after all, the phone was flashed on the Engadget Show as the first official hardware for the new OS. Still, a prototype of the phone, meant for developers to start testing their apps on, has made its way into the wild and might shed some new light on the handset
