Software to connect your android phone to a computer?

I have a 7 and Windows XP and I want to connect my phone Android for my computer to save and change some settings on my phone, anyone knows a similar software? Not Link or HTC companies active sync or sync, because none of these works.

Ok so im running a small studio at home until after college and I’m moving to actual size. But still I built my computer, because programs and effects rack built slowly and slow down my computer. so let me give you a list of parts im putting on my computer and give me your opinion on the motherboard that would suit me better =) – Intel Core 2 Quad-NX-8040 Nexus Real Silent 400W Power Supply-(2) Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB SATA Hard Drives-Fans (2) Nexus Silent Case-(2) optical 24x DVD / CD player (not sure which brand) – ATI Radeon 9000 64MB AGP Video Card-4 GB Kingston RAMdonc that the motherboard would be powerful enough for this?
