Comcast releases Xfinity Mobile App for Android with DVR scheduling and inbox acces
It's no Xfinity TV Remote but Comcast has finally delivered a free native app for Android (1.6 and above) users that brings access to its internet, TV and home phone services directly on mobile devices. Feature wise, it compares to the earlier Comcast Mobile apps for iOS , with its ability to view TV listings schedule DVR recordings remotely, access users Comcast.net inbox, sync their Comcast address book with the phone, access home voicemail and turn on call forwarding, a widget to display voicemails and emails, and view trailers of VOD programming on the device.

Comcast’s iPhone app gains caller ID capability for triple play customers
Comcast's mobile app for iPhone and iPod touch customers got boosted to version 2.5 in the past few days, bringing with it a handful of tweaks that seems to justify the 0.5 increment.

Comcast says additional Clearwire investment is unlikely
Clearwire isn't in the black yet, having bled about $126 million in the second quarter of 2010 -- but should the need arise for additional investment before it can turn a profit, the company shouldn't plan to knock on Comcast's door. Though it doesn't have as much visibility in the 4G marketplace as Clear and Sprint do, Comcast does actually offer WiMAX service using Clearwire's network and owns about 9 percent of it, but the cable provider's CFO says that the prospects for upping that share aren't good and that its up to Clearwire to "figure this out" -- "this" being its financial pickle. Not exactly a vote of confidence, is it

Time Warner Cable developing iOS app, laptime viewing may never be the same (video)
Looks like TWC is the latest victim of tablet fever. Not wanting to get left behind as Comcast flaunts its iPad app for remote scheduling, Time Warner Cable is showing off its own, slated to hit the iPad and the iPhone at some point in the future. (It's called "prototyping work" at this point.) The app would allow a subscriber to view current TV listings and change their DVR's recording schedule from afar, plus use intuitive searches to find new content.

Cablevision considering ultra-cheap unlimited cellphone service?
Cable companies have been pushing into wireless with more urgency than ever lately -- take Cox and Comcast , just to name a couple -- and now it seems Cablevision is taking a good, hard look at launching a cellphone service under its Optimum brand. Current service subscribers are being asked if they'd be interested in "unlimited calling, texting, and internet data access" for $29.95 a month, which is ridiculously, mind-numbingly low for such a package if Cablevision is actually capable of delivering.

Comcast Mobile 2.0 for iPhone flashes remote DVR scheduling skills on video
The ability to remotely schedule DVR recordings hasn't hit every Comcast system yet (c'mon Ann Arbor) but that hasn't stopped the company from delivering version 2.0 of the Comcast Mobile app on iPhone (Blackberry is "coming soon," no word on webOS, Android or WP7 plans) complete with the aforementioned myDVR manager, an improved TV Guide browser, push notifications for emails and voicemails and more.
