PlayStation Phone sized up with numerous devices in another in-depth Chinese preview

Okay, now this is getting ridiculous. It’s been literally less than 48 hours since we saw the first in-depth Chinese-language preview of Sony’s still yet-to-be-confirmed PlayStation Phone, and believe it or not, we’ve got another one. (Our resident translator Richard Lai suggests this might be the same PS Phone just being passed around the various websites.) It’s just as long and arguably just as in-depth with an absolute ton of comparison pics with the PSP Go, the Xperia lineup, a DSi, a Droid… the list goes on. Much of what’s written is the same, and the PlayStation Pocket app is still a mystery. The preview does say a third-party emulator was downloaded and tested, with 70 percent success, but that doesn’t actually tell us anything. Anyway, even if you don’t know Chinese, hit up the source and bask in the glory of a ton more pics.

[Thanks, Shaun]

Engadget Chinese gets hands-on with the Meizu M9

We harbored our doubts as to whether the Meizu M9 would ever be more than unicorn, prancing around the grey matter of CEO Jack Wong, but lo and behold, a honest-to-goodness handset just arrived at our Chinese counterparts' door. Our brothers-from-other-mothers at Engadget Chinese have yet to put that Retina Display-alike through the wringer, but their cameras have been popping nonstop, and if you're curious about the literal shape of things to come -- or just about any facet of Meizu's customized Android 2.2 UI -- you'll find it in pictures below

Pleco Chinese Dictionary iPhone app now handling real-time image translations

Talk about timely. We've been waiting for months (with bated breath, might we add) for Pleco 2.2 to finally hit Apple's App Store, and after dealing with a few launch day bugs last week, we can finally say it's out and ready to dominate any Chinese homework you've been hastily procrastinating on. The Pleco Chinese Dictionary is now available in the app store at version 2.2.1, supporting both fullscreen handwriting input and live camera-based character recognition

HTC HD7 (aka Schubert) pictured in glorious monochrome, headed to T-Mobile for $200?

We've seen O2 Germany's HTC Schubert and a Chinese HD3 , but here's a giant Windows Phone 7 device with "T-Mobile" clearly painted on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. TmoNews got these alleged images of the HTC HD7 from their usual anonymous source along with a partial spec sheet, which actually claims slightly different dimensions for the phone and double the amount of flash memory (16GB in all) than we heard before . Different strokes for different folks, or is one of these two rumors totally off

HTC HD7 pictured and specced by rumormongers trying to outdo one another (update: even more pics!)

This morning we had schematics , by lunchtime the HD7 received its first purported image (visible after the break), and now there's already an even bigger and better picture showing the supposed HTC Hub -enriched Windows Phone 7 interface (see above).

Foxconn makes designs on the Chinese retail market, gives laborers $25,000 to start stores

Three months ago, the compensation of Chinese laborers was low enough that those who built an iPhone couldn't dream of buying one, but the spending power of China in general has increased enough that electronics giant Foxconn (aka Hon Hai Precision Industries) is actually planning to sell such goods in its home country. The Wall Street Journal reports that the company will open ten large electronics stores in Shanghai by the end of 2011, and extend its existing chains of smaller retail stores and booths around the country by about 50 and 200 respectively
