Latest BlackBerry 6 preview proves that the more things change…
To say RIM has a lot riding on BlackBerry 6 is an understatement. With new kids on the block like Android and iOS stepping in with lustworthy apps and attractive UIs, the BlackBerrys have been sitting in a corner BBMing everyone else at the party trying to convince them of its sustained utility. Regardless, the latest tease on the BlackBerry Blogs shows off some of the "fresh, but familiar" elements that are getting polished in the jump from OS 5 to OS 6.

Droid X can now be counted among the rooted
It's recently come to our attention that Birdman over at the AllDroid.org forums has rooted the Droid X . By all accounts (which, at the time of this writing, consists of two forum posts that exclaim "it works!") things are going beautifully, so what do you think?

Our recent hands-on showed it was a bit sluggish, so you might want to wait for our full review, but if your heart's set on that 4-inch Super AMOLED screen and 1GHz Hummingbird core, you're only two clicks away from adding the Android 2.1 handset to your virtual shopping cart. Click one is our source link, immediately below

Samsung Moment update to Android 2.1 available at long last?
Sure, it's been leaked already -- but is Moment -gate 2010 finally about to draw to a close? Quite possibly, because folks running the firmware update executable found on Sprint's site are apparently ending up with a phone powered by Android 2.1 when all is said and done. Considering the fact that the Moment runs stock Android, the update feels long overdue -- but Eclair updates are still pretty hard to come by no matter what kind of phone you're using, so we're just delighted to see it finally happen.
