PSA: Apple’s iPhone may not wake you up on time tomorrow morning
Apple is warning iPhone users that the daylight savings time glitch that plagued Europe affects US iPhones too, meaning you'll wake up an hour late if you rely on the Clock app built into the device. Though Apple representatives say there's a permanent fix in the works, it's not due until iOS 4.2 , so the company suggests you set a new alarm today if you want to rise on time

HTC 7 Pro going on preorder for Microsoft employees November 8th
Sprint will apparently be offering preorders of its HTC 7 Pro -- the only CDMA Windows Phone 7 device to be announced so far -- in just a few days' time on November 8th, but there's a fairly big catch: you've got to be a Microsoft employee to get in on the action. Redmond has been great about seeding WP7 models to its staff so far , so it's definitely possible that Sprint is working with Microsoft in some capacity to get 7 Pros to its folks a little early in an effort to smooth out last-minute bugs and get feedback...

Verizon dishes on Fascinate’s problems — internally, anyway
Rest assured this information was never meant to make it into the public eye (not all in one place, anyway), and from Verizon's perspective, there's a good reason for that -- if you've got a Fascinate , you just know you're going to be looking out for all these bugs now that you might not have noticed otherwise. Sorry to turn you into a nervous wreck, owners, but let's have a look at some of the bigger problems Big Red has its eye on in Sammy's latest incarnation of the Galaxy S : GPS lock latency is said to be abnormally long with no workaround available ( sound familiar? ), pressing the Search button while on a call can hang you up, calendar alerts can't be changed, and the backlighting on the bottom keys is fixed at five seconds -- something we'd complained about on other versions of the phone but is conveniently tied to the keyboard backlight settings on the Epic 4G .

Retail Droid X getting latest firmware update, call log privacy bug emerges
That over-the-air firmware update that rolled out to early Droid X units in the field prior to the launch seems to be trickling out to retail units now, and along with that news comes a surprisingly long changelog. Along with a bunch of squashed bugs, the latest build has a few visual tweaks and improvements to Bluetooth, Exchange ActiveSync, and Visual Voicemail connectivity, so it seems like this is an OTA notification you'll want to promptly tap "OK" to

Droid X software update beats the phone to market
The Droid X isn't even out yet -- at least, not officially -- but that's not stopping Motorola and Verizon from putting the finishing touches on their next superphone prior to launch. All of our review units shipped either with 1.13.514 or 1.13.516, but now Moto's pushing 1.13.604 out to units in the field; we don't know what's different, but we'd assume it's a quickie (just 18MB, in fact) to patch up a few last-minute bugs. Needless to say, if you were expecting Froyo already..

AT&T identifies Alcatel-Lucent as slow upload culprit, fix in the works
As we'd suspected, AT&T isn't intentionally limiting upload speeds on iPhone 4s in some markets where things suddenly got slow over the weekend . Or that's the company's claim, anyhow -- and seeing how they're actually calling out a supplier in the process, we tend to buy it.

T-Mobile’s HTC HD2 gets updated
T-Mobile has posted a firmware update for its HD2 that miraculously, and against all odds, updates it to Windows Phone 7 supposedly fixes a few bugs. You'll need your IMEI to kick off the process, so...

Verizon’s HTC Droid Eris getting Android 2.1 any time now
We'd been hearing rumors lately that HTC's Droid Eris -- a phone that has never quite made it out from under the Droid's shadow -- is in the midst of being discontinued by Verizon, but the imminent launch of an Android 2.1 update might just buy it a new lease on life. In fact, the update makes this phone just about the first Hero variant anywhere in the world to be graced with an upgrade to Google's latest and greatest stuff, beating Sprint's version thanks to a string of delays that have pushed it out to some unidentified period in the second quarter

Motorola CLIQs falling victim to latest firmware? (updated with official statement)
Haven't willfully submitted to the CLIQ's new update yet? Well, you might want to hold off, because it looks like the new code is causing more heartache than good.
