T-Mobile says it’ll launch ’4G’ tablets in 2011
Oh, you too, T-Mobile? Without delving into details, T-Mobile USA has gone tit-for-tat with Sprint by dropping the knowledge that it'll be adding tablets (other than the Tab , of course) to its product portfolio in 2011 -- and as you might expect, they'll be using the network T-Mobile has taken to calling "4G." Though it doesn't meet any technical definition of 4G, the company's ever-expanding HSPA+ network is definitely hanging with the big boys running WiMAX and LTE right now, delivering downlink speeds of 10Mbps or more in some areas if you're lucky -- and that's just the kind of special sauce you're going to want when you've got a big touchscreen to consume content. No word on brand or platform, but we've no doubt some of that Honeycomb noise will be in the mix.

Opera Mobile 10.1 for Android hits public beta
As promised , the boys and girls at Opera have pushed out an Android-flavored beta version of their Opera Mobile 10.1 product today -- and considering the company's track record for making awesome replacement browsers, odds are good that you're going to want to check it out. Besides pinch-to-zoom and support for location services, you'll find fan favorites like desktop browser sync and Opera's Speed Dial, a touchable grid of bookmarks. What's more, the visual tab management is downright slick (then again, outdoing the tab management in-built to Android doesn't take much), so you might want to take it for a test drive today -- can we suggest engadget.com as a fine starting point?

Orange and T-Mobile complete UK network merger
There you have it, boys and girls. Exactly as promised , Orange and T-Mobile have flipped the switch in the UK, allowing subscribers to one carrier to roam onto the network of the other for free. This really is the most important consumer-facing aspect of the Everything Everywhere merger, at least until they figure out how to mix orange and magenta without charring our eyes with the resulting shade of crazy.

T-Mobile G2 now shipping to some pre-orderers
You can't grab one of these bad boys from your local store just yet -- you'll have to wait until early October for that -- but some current T-Mobile customers who'd pre-ordered the G2 (including our own Myriam Joire) are reporting that their devices have shipped.

LG Optimus Z now available in South Korea
Announced back in April , LG has now launched its so-called Optimus Z Android handset on a pair of South Korea carriers -- SK Telecom and KT -- bearing model numbers SU950 and KU9500, respectively. You've got the usual range of features like a 3.5-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel cam, DivX compatibility, and support for LG's neat Air Sync service, but what really sets these bad boys apart is something LG is aptly calling "On Screen Phone": using Bluetooth, you'll be able to see and interact with the Optimus Z's screen from your PC, which is awesome when you're too lazy to extract the thing from your pocket.

Samsung Captivate coming to AT&T on July 18 for $200
We've just gotten official word that the Captivate -- AT&T's rendition of Samsung's global Galaxy S line of high-end Android phones -- will be available starting Sunday, July 18 for $199 on contract with no rebate required. That pricing is more or less what we'd expected considering that T-Mobile priced the Vibrant the same way -- and if rumors of T-Mobile's launch date bump are true, the Captivate won't be the first kid on the block.

Cellular South bolts CTIA, says organization favors the big boys
Years of bad blood between the States' rural carriers and the nationals -- particularly over roaming agreements -- looks like it's on the verge of boiling over with Cellular South firing one of the most damning volleys so far: withdrawal from the CTIA. For the record, the CTIA is the industry association that's supposed to be looking after all carriers' interests in Congress (it should come as no surprise that they're based in Washington, DC), but there are a few key issues where the little guys and the Big Four don't necessarily see eye to eye -- roaming spats aside, there are outstanding issues of handset exclusivity and spectrum allocation

You know it’s quite funny…
I am in no way a fanboy of any console or company, I own a PS3 80GB BC, and an X360, and I owned a Wii. But I love it how the Sony fanboys made fun of the Xbox fan boys for the RROD, but the exactly same thing is happening to PS3 with the YLOD and RLOD, and also the horrible blu-ray drive failures
