Samsung’s SCH-LC11 CDMA / LTE mobile hotspot gets FCC approval, probably Verizon bound
We've heard rumors that Novatel is working on an LTE -enabled version of its MiFi for Verizon, likely for launch early next year -- but you've got to figure that a few other manufacturers would like a slice of that sweet, juicy 4G pie, right?

BlackBerry Curve 8980 shows up in FCC, offers some glam shots
Despite the more recent releases of the Curve 8500 series and the Curve 3G , RIM has never really offered up a true successor to the venerable Curve 8900 -- a device some would argue remains the prettiest that Waterloo has ever manufactured. Indeed, with the QVGA display and meager cam on the 3G, there's a pretty magnificent gap between it and the business-class Bold 9700 / 9780...

Motorola i886 gets FCC approval, earns you dual keypads and iDEN
Motorola's really been branching out with iDEN form factors ( and platforms ) as of late, a testament to the fact that the aging network still has a niche no other technology can quite fill -- and, as evidenced by Boost Mobile's aggressive moves, customers ready to pay for it.

Google Voice apps returning to iPhone app store
It's been a long time coming -- now native Google Voice apps have finally returned to the iTunes App Store. This, after a fourteen month hiatus in which we saw an FCC investigation into the matter that culminated in a loosening of App Store restrictions

Modu W (a.k.a. T-Phone) scores FCC approval
Modu's tiny, Android-based T-Phone still hasn't made much of a public showing outside of a rare in the wild appearance last month, but it has now finally turned up at the FCC, which hopefully means its getting closer to a release. Judging from the manual that the FCC has kindly provided, it looks like the phone is now called the Modu W, but complete specs are otherwise still a bit hard to come by

Verizon’s Fivespot gets FCC approval by way of ZTE
This actually happened a few days ago, but since we admittedly weren't on the lookout for hot filings from Chinese manufacturer ZTE, we totally missed it until we circled back for our FCC Fridays roundup this week. That's right: what you're looking at above is a non-carrier-branded version of the Fivespot global mobile hotspot for Verizon that we'd broke the news on last month -- and if you sift through the user's manual in the FCC filing, you'll see that this is indeed the same thing as the Verizon device. As a refresher, this puppy is supposed to replace the aging MiFi and offer support for triband HSPA alongside EV-DO in the event you're dying for some 3G coverage outside the States.

T-Mobile-flavored Motorola MB710 gets FCC approval
You might remember that we'd thought all the way back in January that T-Mobile's version of the MOTOROI / Milestone XT720 had gotten its FCC certification. Well, guess what happened this week

Sony Ericsson’s Zylo slider earns FCC approval
There's nothing quite like the harsh lighting of an FCC approval lab to call out a phone's true colors -- if a handset can look good here, it can look good pretty much anywhere.

HTC ‘Aria’ tapped for June announce on AT&T?
Here's what we know: there are at least two Android products from HTC that have recently secured FCC approval with support for AT&T's 3G bands. Of course, that alone doesn't mean that they're coming to AT&T -- far from it -- but PhoneDog has it on authority from a "connect that works for AT&T" that there'll be a phone known as the HTC "Aria" launching on June 7 with Android 2.1 and Sense .

HTC HD mini with North American 3G gets FCC approval?
So, hear us out: this isn't a slam dunk by any stretch of the imagination, but we've good reason to believe that we're looking at the FCC ID label of the HTC HD mini variant designed to support North American 3G bands. The most obvious reason is the fact that the label is screaming yellow -- a perfect match for the chartreuse internals of the device that HTC was excited to show off at its MWC introduction a couple months back. What's more, this approval comes a few weeks after approval of the Euro-spec PB92100 with a similarly-designed label, which would've been the right time frame for a phone that's due to ship across Europe any day now.
