Samsung Seek gets real for Sprint: touchscreen and QWERTY for peanuts
So that rumored Seek for Sprint from Samsung turned out to be totally real — and what’s more, it’s available a few weeks earlier than we’d expected (in other words, you can buy it right now). Sure, your average power user isn’t going to give this little guy a second look, but if nothing else, you could argue that the Seek helps set a new standard for functionality and design at a ridiculously low price point for a brand new device by offering a touchscreen, QWERTY slide, 3.5mm headphone jack, and QVGA display for $30 on contract. Of course, that low price doesn’t come without its disadvantages; the phone lacks 3G and hobbles along with a 1.3 megapixel cam — and you’ve got to consider that this is the same carrier offering the Pixi for free — so maybe it’s not such a great buy after all. Look for it now in blue and red, with a pink version (complete with stylized back) launching early next month. Follow the break for Samsung’s press release.
