can i use the internet from my motorola droid on my computer?
I have a droid andi Motorola recently lost internet connection at home. My computer is still in progress and I need guidance on how to use internet on my computer using the engine, a droid. I have a USB cable that connects the two, but I can also use Bluetooth. What can I do to connect to the Internet?
This is called tethering, and is provided by verizon for an additional monthly charge. However, Android does not support tethering at this time unfortunately
One thing you can do is get the app called pda net. This allows use your phones data for you computer but you need to use you usb cord. Also this is a little bit harder and you could brick your phone, but you can root your phone and get a free tethering app that allows you to use your droid as a router and others can connect to you phone for internet. There is an app on the market that is call sholes mod updater and it does the rooting for you so you don’t make any mistakes, and it also comes with the tethering map installed.
By the way rooting your phone could void your warranty, but as long as you don’t brick it, which is a slim chance, you have no problem.
what you want to do is something call the tethering through bluetooth, I called verizon, and was told that the tethering feature isn’t yet available on the motorola droid. The only way to do it is through rooting.
