It looks nice, to bad It’s an HTC. Having owned 3 HTCs in the past, including the Diamond, I can safelly say their hardware sucks.
I currently own an Iphone and I’m very upset with apple’s anti jail break policy, but it’s still much better hardware, despite the specs of the nexus.
When is this Phone Available in the U.K?? Will it only be available from the Google Store and whats the Cost? Mega bucks im guessing!

This phone doesn’t have multi-touch! True. That is not Multi-touch! It’s pinch to zoom. Try to download a multitouch app from the market and you’ll see. Crap dualtouch screen! Shame on google! Not even near the Iphone screen.
How do you (Google) want to compete with crap hardware as the touchscreen on this phone?

The problem with your argument is that the Nexus One is only one of a number of increasingly popular Android phones. And more will be coming to market as well.
Android is fully open to developers. Apple’s is a closed proprietary platform. I will choose freedom over proprietary lock-in any day. Furthermore, the Nexus One is definitely not the last word in Android phones. More are coming and new versions of Android are coming too. No one is standing still and Apples current strategy (trying to block HTC from the US market with patent claims) is not the behavior of a company that thinks it can kill the competition purely by making better products.
Apple can’t base many of its primary technologies on the work of others and then expect to get away with suing or blocking competitive threats from the market with its own “IP” claims. It is deeply hypocritical and deserves a full frontal assault from the likes of Oracle, Sun, Novell, who’s “IP” Apple uses. Also they deserve a serving from the FSF & SFLC for GPL violations.
If Apple wants to play this game, bring it on. I’d like to see them roasted for their hypocrisy.
Apple is seeking to block HTC from the US market alleging patent infringement. The majority of Apples claims are “software patents”, an illegitimate idea in most countries. But the US patent system is broken and Apple takes advantage of this with nonsense claims. Apple also uses the work of others: OSX is Unix, Keynote ‘inspired’ by Concurrence, Safari & Webkit based on Konqueror & KHTML. I would hope that interested parties would launch a massive countersuit against Apple. They deserve it.

Google, I know your goal is to beat the iPhone 3GS, and you did. Great job. But you know that a new iPhone comes every summer. This summer will come a knew iPhone and it will kill the Nexus One. I’m just waiting for summer to get my second iPhone. My first was the 3G. Keep battling to convince me and iPhone users to change to Android OS. Thank you!

My preference is for the iPhone because Apple takes the lead and others follow. It is one thing to be inventive, and another set of skills is required to be imitative. The advertisement is even imitative of Apple with the catchy pop/techno genre, and the clean white background. Of course, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the product and advertising are all done by people that formerly worked for Apple. Still, Apple has excellent brand loyalty and their fan base & stock increase steadily!

it is the multitouch screen that supports up to 5 fingers. The nexus supports only 2 fingers. That’s it. It does better in all things.

-Faster processor(1ghz the nexus/600Mhz the iphone)

-Slighly slimer

Although I don’t feel as strongly about it as strongly as nellerboy. He is the radical extremist of iPhone users, rejecting all things different as garbage. He is about as representative of iPhone users as Osama bin Laden is of Islam.
After reading around, I agree with nellerboy2000 that the nexus one is buggy, so I’m holding back from buying it til the 4th gen iPhone comes out, but unless it has flash, speech to text for all typing areas and some sort of photo search like google goggles, I’m gonna give in and get a nexus

Also, don’t make the same old tired excuse that the iPhone came out blah blah. Do you think people are looking to buy the first 2 generation of it? Just face it, unless Google starts fixing their extremely buggy UI and find another hardware manufacturer, people aren’t going to buy their “superphones”. I’d take a Palm Pre over this buggy piece of junk anytime.
