PS3 sound but no video when using multifunction cable

Unit plays fine when using hdmi but I attempted to use on an older TV that only has yellow/red/white (video and sound) input.  I get sound but no picture.  I tried on 2 TVs with same result so I know it isn’t the TV connection issue.  Since the TVs only have the yellow/red/white connections I have no option.  Any ideas on what the problem is?
