The XMB has some serious organisation issues

Let me start by saying I’m a huge fan of the XMB, its sleek and functional, however in terms of organisation it is somewhat lacking. I’m actually quite surprised more people haven’t bought this up, maybe its because a lot of people don’t use the media functions of the PS3. Here are my gripes:

- When adding tracks to the PS3, its sometimes impossible to rename the album. You group the content but when you click options, the album cannot be renamed. Instead is is stuck as ‘Unknown’. To fix it one must go through each track and change it through the options. With hundreds/thousands of tracks, this is not possible.

- When adding a Artist or Genre, there is no ‘Apply to many/all’ option, so again one must go through each individual track. Again, not practical.

- There is no option to move content between folders. You must go into the settings again and rename the album manually of each individual item. If you want to move several items, this is again so time consuming.

- There is do ‘delete multiple’ option. You have to delete each one individually, again too much time.

- No sub folder support. If we had subfolders, huge lists could be cut down into much more organised sections. This needs to happen soon, the PSP has it, why not the PS3?

- Disappearing lists. This one just baffles me! Why on Earth would Sony implement this ‘feature’, its actually a huge step back. When looking through a long list, the text actually disappears. Its incredibly frustrating and the person who came up with this is a moron.

- There is no option to limit content to a specific user. i.e. If another user adds music on to their account, I don’t want it cluttering up my account.

Those are my main issues. They could no doubt be rectified quickly in a firmware update. Its not like these problems require a huge overhaul or anything, just some more options.
