No Refunds on Digital Downloads!?!?!
I downloaded Terminator Salvation back on 12/27 and set the system to turn off when complete. I didn’t turn the system back on until 5 days later and lo and behold when I tried to play the movie, “content expired”. Well, seeing as how this would be impossible since the 24 hour clock should NOT have started on the rental, I contacted PS support to discuss a refund. After supplying the download date, my name and my email/network login, I was told that I could not be helped w/out also providing my PS id. When I asked why, I was told “for security purposes”. So, after supplying all of this personal info, PS sees fit to deny service without even more information. Typical, a support system designed to frustrate and annoy in hopes that customers will just call it a day and not worry about the SEVEN dollars they spent on a movie they didn’t even get to watch. After a fruitless discussion regarding the logic in forcing customers to supply every possible login id, password and account information nugget prior to even discussing the issue at hand, I just asked if I could have a refund. That was refused and the Sales Agreement was referenced. Apparently, there is something in the small print that states that PS is not responsible for refunds on digital download? Nonsense. To think that I am being nickle and dimed by a company that I have literally spent thousands on! I’ve disputed the charge with AMEX and I’m sure that won’t work, but give me a break SONY! Seven dollars is the sales tax on one of your games and you’re willing to screw loyal customers out of that amount in such an obvious way?
