Can Not Connect To Internet

I have a PS3 SLIM and I tried to connect to the internet all I did was unplug the cable out of my computer and connected it into the Ethernet port on the back of the PS3. When I go to network then network settings and then internet connection settings it detect a wired plug-in I set everything on enable and automatic and it shows my IP address and everything. Then when it tells me to test my connection it times out. Any ideas? Thanks guys!
