Need some questions answered…

My PS3 crapped out on me about a week and a half ago, and because it was a launch console I’m out of warranty. I have a few questions about the process of sending it in.

 

1) Will Sony accept the console if it’s been opened? Nothing would be modified or anything.

2) Do you need your original receipt?

3) Do you get your original console back, or a refurbished, newer model? I heard Canadian’s get the original back, but I’m not sure. Also, if you get the original back, will everything on the HDD remain? 

 

If #3′s answer is a refurb:

 

4) If you have SingStar songs that you’ve downloaded, how can you get them again? Or is it possible?

5) Would you need a PSN receipt for the songs? Unfortunately, I’m out of luck with my Hotmail account, because it automatically deletes emails; in other words, the receipts are gone.
